I think that anon + other people hid cocaine in their asks/tags/comments because what do you mean I'm still thinking about the Berk Isekai au
(After the lab explosion Tadashi wakes up on the shore of Berk, and apparently something similar happened to Jack, who doesn’t remember his past life, except for the very last moments. Set after httyd2, Hiccup is the chief and suddenly there's these two guys with memory loss on his island. Are the gods playing games with him or something.)
wdym we’re getting a BIG HERO 6 event but there’s no idia or ortho? the movie literally has a dead brother and going on an adventure with a robot HELLO?? 😭
[ Referencing this news! ]
I believe that Kalim and Silver are the SSRs for this event since the previews show their goggles resemble Baymax’s. Typically it’s the SSRs that interact with the guest character (in this case, Baymax) in their battle animations. Jade and Rook must be the SRs, since their previews seem to feature a background different than the generic ones used per dorm for R cards. Assuming that this is another Lost in the Book event, then there would be 2 free R cards that we haven’t gotten previews for get. It’s possible that the Shroud brothers, or at least one of them, are included in this way. That’d make for 6 characters total too, like the 6 in Big Hero. (U-Unless Grim and Yuu also count here?)
Idia and Ortho have some parallels with Big Hero 6, so I understand why fans would want to see them in the event. They, too, lost a brother and there’s the involvement of a robot in order to aid the surviving brother with the aftermath of that loss. The Shrouds are also tech geeks and love to play hero (to the point where it’s integrated into Idia’s OB and childhood in book 6). In an earlier version of Twst, Idia was envisioned as a young prodigy, similar to what Hiro is. And, of course, we have the same “the-robot-died-but-their-microchip-survived-so-we-can-still-bring-them-back” plot point in regards to both robo!Ortho and Baymax.
If we want to bring lexicon into this, there’s even a potential connection in the dead brothers’ names. Ortho comes from the Greek root ortho-, meaning “upright”, “correct”, “right”, or “straight”. Tadashi, depending on the characters being used to write his name, could be 忠 (loyalty/devotion) or 正 (correctness/righteousness).
Could it be that the Twst devs didn’t want to bring the Shrouds in as SR or SSRs this time because they already have so many elements overlapping with the movie? Maybe they wanted to give other characters that chance? Or maybe the story will have some issue that would be child’s play if they had tech geniuses on the squad and they wanted to disqualify the Shrouds? There’s any number of reasons, and it’s really hard to judge when the event isn’t even out yet.
I’m not entirely sure how the Twst devs determine the characters to feature in every event, but they definitely haven’t always been the ones that relate the most to whatever film the event is inspired by. Other LitBs, too, seem sort of random with the assortment of characters chosen, with the closest association I can think of being… Floyd and Lilia with Stitch due to their shared chaoticness? There’s also the element of family being an important aspect to their characters, but honestly I don’t recall this being a huge theme in the event story 😭
The sad reality and trend is that most Twst event stories focus way more on shenanigans than actually developing the characters. This is even moreso the case with LitBs than other types of events, especially given the amnesia that happens once the characters exit the book. Whether the Shrouds are included or not, I don’t see this event going out of its way to do anything meaningful with them. Would it be cool to see them playing the part of superheroes for real? Sure. Would it fundamentally add anything? No, probably not, given Twst’s usual writing inclinations. I think the fans tens to have a million more interesting ideas with the direction to take events more than canon events actually do.
I’ve seen seeing a lot of disappointment and even anger from English-speaking fans after they’ve seen the character roster for this. There’s a lot of finger pointing at Kalim, Rook, Jade, and Silver, trying to weed one or two out to “make space” for Idia and/or Ortho, almost as if to imply those spots should go to a more “deserving” character. That’s just been unfortunate to see 💦 I understand not personally liking the choices the devs made, but it’s behavior like this that unintentionally puts down fans of other characters who’ve been waiting for new content of their fave. In fact, this might be Silver’s first event SSR (not including lines that everyone gets, like Birthdays, Clubwears, Halloween, etc.) and the moment’s being soured by the ancillary conversation surrounding it.
… By the way, the light trio + Jade being the reveals for this event got my thinking of this meme:
My Dear Wallet (Hiro Hamada x Gn! Reader x Tadashi Hamada)
Summary: Tadashi gets a little concerned when he hears his little brother call you a certain peculiar nickname and decides to interrogate.
Warning: Tadashi's alive (yayyy), Hiro being a little shit, Reader being unbothered. Tried to write in character. Intended to be platonic but you can read it otherwise (not poly tho)
Word Count: 1.4k
A/N: First time writing a fic and I am so nervous cuz I always wanted to bring my ideas to life and this fic is partially inspired by @coeurzr 's Hiro Hamada fic (go check it out NOW!) Also I may or may not intend for the Reader to be a lovechild of Tony Stark (oops-). English is not my first language and criticism is welcomed.
Tadashi Hamada x Reader | Headcanons
Tadashi is the definition of a steady, reliable boyfriend. He thrives on making you feel cared for in both big and small ways.
He’s a mixture of dad-joke charming and effortlessly cool, which means he’ll hold your hand with total confidence but also trip over his own shoelace two seconds later.
Dates often lean more toward cozy than flashy; coffee shop study dates, walks around campus, and evenings at the lab with Baymax curiously following you both.
Tadashi is naturally very touchy in subtle ways; his hand resting on your back, brushing hair out of your face, and leaning down to kiss your temple mid-conversation.
He loves forehead kisses. He’ll use them when he has to leave early, when you’re stressed, or just when he wants to remind you he loves you without words.
He absolutely melts when you wear his hats or jackets. He’ll tease you about “stealing his look,” but he’s secretly obsessed.
Baymax quickly becomes your third wheel. Tadashi enjoys how Baymax will scan you and make unnecessary comments like “Your heart rate rises around Tadashi.” Tadashi just grins every time.
He once programmed Baymax to deliver flowers to you as a surprise (though Baymax’s monotone “This is for you” made it less romantic and more hilarious).
Tadashi notices everything. He can tell when you’re overwhelmed or hiding stress, and he’ll gently coax you into talking about it.
my favorite siblings :)
