Presenting Hijikata and Tae on a summer date...in a 1950s-inspired AU!
Tae’s fashion takes cue from Audrey Hepburn for a cute, casual, and classic style! Her outfit pays homage to Audrey’s gown in Sabrina (1954) through the cherry blossom print on a summer dress reminiscent of the trends of that decade. Every time it comes to Tae in more modern fashions, I always find myself returning to Audrey’s iconic style and fashion sense, which I think suits Tae wonderfully.
Hijikata’s fashion is inspired by two famous leading men during the golden age of cinema in the 50s (and beyond): Toshiro Mifune and Marlon Brando, from a photoshoot and A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), respectively. I think the classic T-shirt and trousers look suits Hijikata best for a casual and romantic outing.

Finally bought Tae's husband Hijikata to match with Tae!

Lesson 527/Episode 309: Tae and Hijikata, both enraged by injustice.
The minute her colleagues are harmed, Tae confronts Nobu Nobu’s abuse of power.
The second Tae’s neck is cut, Hijikata moves to strike Nobu Nobu with a punch.

No one will remember the other almost-punch.
No one will whisper and pass around legends about the man who made a living from submitting to governmental authority. No one will think about the one whose life already hangs on the edge of a sword, spinning around and throwing his fist out in the direction of the most powerful man in the nation, knowing full well that his death would be ordered on the spot, knowing he would lose all hope and chance to save his general from execution.
No one will remember what Hijikata did for her.

Summary: Tae's thoughts and emotions, as she and Hijikata and the others flee into the night after Gintoki punches the Shogun.
