My fifth grade teacher, who was integral to me becoming more interested in creative writing, also held a "funeral" for the word "ain't". I grew up in rural Georgia and we were all a bunch of hick kids dripping in Southern drawl. He was trying so hard to get us to use proper grammar. So, we made tombstones out of pizza boxes and laid "ain't" to rest.

I wonder how he would feel knowing that I have fully let Arthur Morgan shove that word right back into my vocabulary and daily usage.
