Imagine going on a couple of dates with Toyomitsu Taishiro, more commonly known as Fat Gum, and one day he seems particularly nervous about something. You encourage him to tell you what’s on his mind and…
“I have children.” Your eyes widened in immediate shock. “Not literally, but the trainees at my company, they come over for dinner at mine at least once a week.”
You took a second to register before slowly nodding, eyes now analysing your date to see if there was any further intent. “That’s so nice…” Not sure how to word your thoughts without making him feel like you weren’t interested, you gestured for him to continue.
His cheeks flushed to match his dopey smile when he chuckled nervously. “They mean a lot to me. I was wondering if you’d like to come to dinner and meet them?”
“I would love that!”
His children couldn’t be more different from each other.
Amajiki seemed nervous to meet you, but it seemed like the nervousness had less to do with that in particular and more to do with who he was as a person. Noticing a vibrating redhead who was even more eager to greet you, you didn’t push Amajiki into any further conversation yet, simply introducing yourself and moving on after he did the same.
Kirishima, on the other hand, went straight in for a hug. He was curious about your quirk, your job, your life, everything. With an affectionate look to the side, you found Toyomitsu looking at all of you with joy, one hand resting on Amajiki’s shoulder.

Even at night, the air was still warm, holding on to traces of the day’s humidity.
Electric lights illuminated the paved walkway, a golden arbour of plastic gazebos, striped awnings and tasselled signs, each a small gateway to some new paradise.
Your knuckles traced lightly over the arm of the man ambling along beside you, fine golden hairs easing between your fingers. Although his hands were often occupied with some new delicacy (as they were now), he liked having steady, constant contact with you, a reminder of your presence at his side.
It was also no surprise that he garnered a few stares in the bustling night market, considering his height and size.
Here, however, amongst many others with visible quirk manifestations on the streets of Bangkok, and with his status as a professional hero less known to the public, there was a singular peace to this little stroll.
Toyomitsu Taishiro, also known as Fat Gum to the citizens of Japan, was seldom seen off duty, after all. It was you, with the help of his former trainees, who had convinced him to take some well-earned time off.
Suneater and Red Riot had both established themselves as powerful heroes, and the agency had been left in their capable hands.
Even with their involvement, he’d been reluctant to leave. The finishing blow had been struck, however, on one afternoon in your shared apartment, when you’d crawled into his lap in the flimsiest silk negligee you’d managed to find for the occasion and begged him, in your sweetest tones, for a small get-away, for just the two of you.
His will may have been strong, but with the combined forces of the heroes present at his office, and your insistent lips on his, he’d finally given in.
Heaven knew, a holiday was long overdue.
So, here you were, in the city known for its historic beauty, vibrancy and, of course, delicious food. You were quite sure that by the end of this trip, Taishiro would have sampled almost every single regional delicacy in existence.
Glancing up at him, you took in way light wove through his sunburst hair, the soft hum of approval that vibrated through his chest as he took another bite of his pork skewers. Reaching up, you wiped away a trace of the sauce that had slid to the corner of his mouth, attracting his attention.
Immediately, his eyes were back on you, warm and amused.
“Want some, sweetheart?”
“Maybe a taste?”
He grinned, always happy to share as he lowered the skewer to you. Catching a morsel between your teeth, you chewed, nodding enthusiastically at the flavour.
“Now that’s good.”
“Y’see? Always trust your hero to pick the right stuff.”

The walk took a good hour and a half, what with Taishiro insisting on ‘testing’ everything that entered the range of his vision, or sense of smell.
Not that you were complaining.
The pure radiance emanating from that round countenance every time he came across a new flavour was enough to sustain you, even if you hadn’t also tried each and every delight he’d availed himself of.
By the time you both had reached the end of the row of stalls, heading back into the semi-darkness of the street ahead, his hand had taken possession of your waist, your shoulder leaning into the plush heat of his side.
Tracing across the contours of his bicep, you spoke softly, into the still night air.
“What about my dessert?”
He regarded you in surprise.
“Oh? You wanna go back? Or try someplace else, maybe?”
“No. I want to go back to the hotel.”
“But darlin’, the restaurant’s closed this time of night, and … oh.”
He caught the look you were giving him, lower lip tucked between your teeth, the touch on his arm that had taken up a decidedly sensuous pattern.

The lobby awaited, slow-moving revolving doors (too slow), smooth, marbled floors and high-vaulted interiors. Cool air blasted across your exposed shoulders, and you had a momentary premonition of how that might feel in the bedroom, against your naked skin, pressed flush against his overwhelming warmth.
The idea birthed a slight shiver, an easing of your stride closer into his space. As hyper-aware as you both were of each other right now, you knew he couldn’t miss it.
The elevator presented a challenge.
His hand immediately moved lower along your back, cupping, squeezing, and he huffed in amusement as your breathing audibly hitched, fingers gripping his arm hard.
