Tell me about Delarix :D
She’s Tal’shar and Shi’ara’s mom, and Arsurus’ adoptive mom. She’s a very sweet jeweler who just wants the best for her kids.
What Arsurus think or his point of view for the Terran race he may be very young but he probably heard about them before right?
Arsurus has heard about Terrans from Tal’Shar, and some of Delarix’s customers too! Tal’Shar thought that they were small and kind of silly, but still good to have in a fight. Some of Delarix’s customers think the same, some think that Terrans are useless for anything but fighting, and even others think that Terrans shouldn’t be around at all.
Arsurus, however, doesn’t see what all the fuss is about. After all, Tal’Shar said that they were definitely people, and not animals. They may not be Protoss people, but people are people and that means that he feels as though he should be nice to them. Besides, Miss Aida is so nice, that Arsurus doesn’t think Protoss who dislike Terrans have met nice Terrans, only mean ones.
It was quiet. Too quiet, really.
Arsurus was used to people going in and out of the shop, for jewelry, for tattoos, for that party that Raezar and his friends were always hosting downstairs. He wasn’t used to people not going in and out of the shop, or people being so quiet and subdued. Some customers that usually showed up hadn’t even come in yet. Miss Delarix had even asked Tal’Shar to stay home today. No one had told him anything about why everyone was so quiet and on edge, but he could tell that they were!
And that was why he was creeping down the stairs. Everyone being quiet and on edge made him anxious too. If he was anxious, not even knowing what had happened, he knew that Miss Nysha was going to be anxious too. Maybe even more so, since she probably knew why everyone was upset.
It was even more unusual when he stuck his head around the corner and actually saw how the shop looked. There just weren’t a lot of people. There were always lots of people in the shop. But that wasn’t a bad thing, this time. Miss Nysha and Miss Sylaise were helping someone with a tattoo in the back, and Miss Delarix was in her shop, which meant that he could slink through the shop and hide behind one of the displays without catching the notice of anyone.
Miss Nysha and Miss Sylaise talked to their customer. Their customer talked back. Whatever they were discussing, it was making them all upset. Arsurus couldn’t understand anything, he was too far away for that, but their tense auras made him clutch Nyara’dar to his chest. Something had happened. He knew that before, but this just confirmed it more.
The customer gestured to the cord extension display Arsurus was hiding behind, and said something. Arsurus froze, but Miss Sylaise just kept applying the tattoo. It wasn’t him, then? But Miss Nysha was heading over now, which was what he had been hoping for, so he shrunk back a little and waited for her to come over.
Arsurus waited patiently as Miss Nysha searched through the cord extensions. When she finally reached out to grab one, he gently pushed Nyara’dar through the display and into her hand instead. Miss Nysha looked so surprised that he couldn’t help but giggle a bit! This was a good idea.
“She missed you, Miss Nysha!” Arsurus made sure to keep his voice down, barely a ghost of a whisper, so he didn’t upset the customer. “I missed you too. Can we play, when you’re less busy?”
Is everyone in Arsurus' real family dead?
No, none of them are (that he knows of)! See, there’s Raezar over there, Miss Delarix and Miss Nysha and Miss Sylaise are in the shop, Big Bro Tal’Shar is doing warrior things outside, Big Sis Azuna and Xo are doing important Shadowguard things, and Big Sib Phaellam is doing important artist things! They’re all alive and well!
Delarix, you're just being used by him. You're nothing more than an accessory. Get out while you still can.
Delarix rolls her eyes vigorously before once again disposing of the jealous little message. They couldn’t know that she was fully aware of how it felt to be actually used as decoration, but the attempts to separate her from people who truly loved her were beginning to wear on her. Not because she was believing a word of the anonymous messages, of course, but because she felt like she had to keep an eye out for cruelty directed at the rest of the family. If these aggressors got bored with her, might they go after the children next?
Maybe she would talk with Sylaise about these concerns. Arsurus in particular would be susceptible to this sort of thing. What happened to Delarix herself was of no concern to her, but her children were her everything. She would protect them, no matter what.
