There was no CC open house activities, carnival or even refreshments. This year’s Edusave awards were given out in much smaller groups with staggered timings. Many residents told me that they felt very fortunate to be in Singapore as the COVID-19 situation has been well controlled so far. I said credit goes to the general population who have been very cooperative and adhering to the various measures. Happy to meet the clients, staff and volunteers at Christian Outreach to the Handicapped centre at Tampines Blk 414. Heartening to see the passion and dedication to look after the more vulnerable segments of our society. We had a good discussion on how the centre could reach out to the community, eg a community garden. Someone donated squid and cuttlefish balls at My Kind of Fridge yesterday. #MyKindofFridge at Tampines Blk 441 has been open 24/7 since Jan 2017 for public to contribute food. We have started to paint the neighbourhood of Blk 485-490, 499 clusters in the #TampinesTingkat colour scheme. Four blocks (487A-C, 488B) have this Civil Defence shelter ventilation structures which look like little cottages. The contractor has proposed some options but I think residents and public could come up with more interesting ideas. 😀 Do send me your proposals (try to keep to the #TampinesTingkat colour scheme) via email [email protected] by 31 Dec. We used to have an appreciation dinner for our grassroots leaders to thank them for serving the community. While we cannot do that this year, we prepared a little gift bag for each volunteer.
