Tarokka Deck Commission (40/55): Merchant

The Merchant card is the fourth of coins, and it represents a rare commodity or business opportunity; deceitful or dangerous business transactions.

This card honestly took way longer than anticipated. Partially because of art block, and partially because of the amount of detail I've put in it 😓 And while I do love the final result, this way of working is very much overloading me. Gotta learn to stop at "good enough" rather than "perfect". Now to be fair, 2024 was a very eventful and busy year for me, so yeah, it makes sense that I've been struggling with art 😅 Hoping for better art juices in 2025!

i dont remember if this one is technically finished? here it is anyways.

The Raven is a Tarokka card from the shadowy and mist-filled Ravenloft. It represents a turn of events, good fortune on the horizon, incoming good news.

I was going to turn all of the tarokka cards into pixel art cards, but I never got around to doing more than 2 or 3. Maybe I'll pick it back up at some point.

Tried a different style for this. I was aiming to give it a similar feel to the Tarokka cards in the deck but wanted to redo Ismark's associated card to feature him and paint him as both victim and executioner since he's a bit of a tragic character (and I made him get bit by a werewolf in my campaigns).

Tarokka Deck Commission (38/55): Philanthropist

The Philanthropist card is the second of coins, and it represents charity and giving on a grand scale; those who use wealth to fight evil and sickness.

This was a fun drawing! I drew inspiration from Victorian portraits for this one, and I think I pulled it off quite well! Though those frills were very much a bother to render 😓 But I'm pleased with the result!

The Rogue card is the master of coins, and it represents anyone for whom money is important; those who believe money is the key to their success.

I'm alive! I didn't die in the last month and a half 😓 I've just been dealing with (apparently seasonal) art block (January just sucks for my creativity, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Oh, and maybe the amount of details in this are partially to blame. But it looks pretty good! And I'm quite happy with it 😄

Tarokka Deck Commission (37/55): Swashbuckler

The Swashbuckler card is the first of coins, and it represents those who like money yet give it up freely; likable rogues and rapscallions.

Well well well, look what I can do in two weeks 😒 Joking aside, this one was a fun one to draw! I love how the expression turned out, and I think I got the vibe down right! It's nice when your creative ability agrees with you 😊
