TASK FIVE ; CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS
What’s your character’s go-to fifteen minute meal?
Usually, Bee isn’t one to put much work into something like that. But whenever she’s craving something, the girl would settle for something easy like grilled cheese sandwiches or just a bowl of cereal. It’s not the most healthy option out there, but it’s the quickest.
How would they describe their perfect vacation?
The ideal trip for Bee would be either alone, or alongside one of the few people she feels like she can genuinely be herself around without having to pretend (which, as of today, isn’t anybody so alone it would seem) to a place away where nobody knows her, preferably a big city where she’s just another face in the crowd.
What’s the most read book on their bookshelf?
Bee isn’t a very avid reader at all but when she was young, she got a old copy of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland that she likes turning to when she feels like she need to get away. By now, the spine is broken and taped together over and over again, but she loves it, even if just for flipping through the pages and looking at the drawings.
If they had to describe themselves as a type of shoe, which type would they choose? Why?
It would definitely be some kind of combat boot; dark, worn down and with a hard shell.
Do they have an emergency treat (cookies, sweets, chocolate, etc.) hidden somewhere in their room for bad days? What is it?
It’s not as much a treat in the way of sugar as her cigarettes to calm her down on bad days. But if she had to pick an unhealthy treat for herself, there wouldn’t even be a hesitation in the matter of a big chocolate cake.
What’s their weirdest bedtime ritual?
Maybe it’s not quite as weird as it could be but before going to bed, Bee makes sure that the door is locked at least three times; once when she’s about to start getting ready for bed, once when changed out of her clothes or school uniform into her pyjamas, and a final time just as she’s about to get under the covers. If anyone would ask about it, it’s because of safety reasons. Definitely.
What sort of pyjamas do they wear? How about underwear?
Usually, the girl sleeps in an old pair of sweatpants that are cut-off into shorts, and a big t-shirt. However when she’s back home at her grandparents’ house, she prefers sleeping without a top on.
Who/what is the one thing that can make them smile no matter how terrible their day has been?
It’s probably not a surprise to anyone that there isn’t a person Bee has that can make her smile or feel better like that. Instead, her source of a peaceful mind is the tranquillity of getting to be by herself, most preferably in a place where she won’t have to be worried of being interrupted.
Where do they go when they need some time alone?
If her room isn’t an available option, which it rarely is in afternoons or once classes have ended, Bee prefers going out into the woods by the school.
What’s one conspiracy theory that they secretly agree with?
Bee isn’t religous at all, far from it, but in the miracle that Jesus once was alive and kicking, she figures that there’s no chance in hell that he was a man in his thirties that didn’t have a girlfriend, or possibly wife, that he got jazzy with. In the cause of that, the thought that there are actually descendants to Jesus could be a possible thing.
Who’s the person they most want to tell when they hear a funny joke?
Although there is barely any contact between them that isn’t hostile anymore, a part of Bee’s mind is still lingering onto the past, when she could tell each and everything she went through to Hadi. All the good and the bad; including awful jokes that her best friend wouldn’t even find funny.
What’s the first section of the newspaper (or online news source) that they check each day?
The local news. Even if she tries her hardest to act like she doesn’t care about anything or anyone, there’s still a constant worry in the back of Bee’s mind that something would have happened to the people around her.
How would they react to being punched in the face?
Depending on the person who did it, she would either laugh if she knew she deserved it, or punch them right back.
Who would they call to bail them out of jail? Bonus points if you describe why they were arrested!
Her only choice would be her grandmother, seeing as her mother isn’t in a good state of her mind and her grandfather barely remembers her on good days. The reason of Bee being arrested could be plenty but most likely, it would be related to drug use or possession.
Is there a number in their phone that they should definitely delete but just can’t seem to erase?
There isn’t a number in her phone necessarily but even three years after her father’s death, Bee still has his number memorized.
What’s the one scent that most reminds them of home?
Lavender, from the scented candles her mother used to have an obsession with.
What do they consider their greatest achievement?
There isn’t really anything Bee would consider herself being proud of achieving, as she doesn’t think she’s done anything really good in her life.
If you gave them an office chair, would they spin around on it and wheel around the room?
She would absolutely spin around on it, but not wheel around the room.
How much time do they spend on the Internet each day?
Surprisingly less than one would think, as the most time Bee spends on her phone or laptop is listening to music or watching movies.
What is their favourite meme/internet joke?
Definitely Grumpy Cat, since she feels like he speaks to her on a spiritual level.
What was their first email address?
Probably [email protected]
What’s their go-to procrastination activity?
Like most seventeen year olds, it would be bing-watching any TV series she’s currently following.
If someone where to make a movie of their life, who would they want to play them?
Someone like Anna Kendrick, Natalie Dormer or Cara Delevingne.
Do they have a celebrity crush? If so, who?
Not in particular, but she’s got a very weak spot for whatever movies Johnny Depp is in.
What do they think of celebrity baby naming fads? What would they call their own child(ren)?
She finds them absolutely ridiculous. “North West”, really? In the moment, Bee doesn’t want children of her own; more for their sake than her own as she doesn’t think she would be able to raise a child.
Who would they dress up as for Halloween?
Bee’s not planning on dressing up at all, either wanting to spend the evening getting drunk off her arse or in bed watching horror movies by herself. However, if she was to dress up, it would be as something simple like an angel or a cat.
If they could transport themselves into a fictional universe, which one would they choose?
Definitely Narnia, during the peaceful times. Not during the time when the White Witch ruled it and put it in eternal winter.
If they were a wizard/witch in the Harry Potter universe, what would their Patronus be?
Something with sharp claws and fangs, like a tiger or a cheetah.
Would they chug a bottle of liquor rather than give it to airport security?
Yes, absolutely.
What kind of a Mario Kart player are they? (Aggressive, calm, tentative, ruthless etc.)
She’s the calm kind, but ruthless in wanting to win. Although, she hasn’t played Mario Kart in years.
