Well, it's time to post another rap I found floating around in my files. It was written years ago when I was at a really low point in my life. The main gist is I was trying to convince myself that things weren't as bad as they appeared, and everything will get better. Maybe this can serve as some inspiration for others.
You feel people did a number on your confidence
Make you feel weak and incompetent
A bunch of fleas who do nothing but bug you
Thinking that they have the right to judge you
If you ignore them they'll go away or so you figured
But it looked like the problem kept getting bigger
Though you tried to be nice, kind and humble
They seem to cheer whenever you stumble
It's bad enough that they put you down
But they seem to do it when others are around
They don't mince words, it's not very pretty
Now you're the subject of everyone's pity
With nowhere to run and nowhere to hide
You try to cope by keeping it all inside
Put on a brave face and try to take it in stride
In spite of the damage done to your pride
Still you move on, hoping things improve
And in your lifetime you'll find your groove
Only to find out the beat and rhythm is sloppy
The lyrics are whack and the song is off-key
Painful enough to make your head throb
Like when you go out and try to find a job
They won't listen to what you have to say
Harshly reject you then send you on your way
You ask yourself when will things start looking up
To make matters worse you start cursing your bad luck
The very thought of it is making you madder
There's only so much you can take before you break
You pretend to be stoic but deep down it hurts
And holding it in will only make it worse
You ask yourself what did I do to deserve this
Yes I'm flawed, after all no one's perfect
You thought by not complaining, you'd be accepted
Or at the very least respected
But in the end you wound up with neither
Now you're broken like Amy Lee and Seether
With no hope and no self-esteem
Your reason for living is gone, or so it seems
Although you feel all hope has died
At least you haven't thought of committing suicide
Despite what you think it's never too late
To get back on track and to get your head straight
Instead of sitting down hoping something happens
Get up off your butt and take action
I know the very thought of it makes you dread
But remember, a closed mouth doesn't get fed
Rejection sucks, but it is a part of life
So if you get dumped, think of it as a speed bump
And if it threatens to knock you off course
Just think of it being their loss, not yours
For you're not trash, but a prize
Don't let anyone convince you otherwise
When you set your goals, try to reach above the skies
Even if your stomach is filled with butterflies
Should you falter, don't ever get discouraged
If you keep at it, you're bound to flourish
So march on, don't let anyone stop you
They'll do whatever they can to try to knock you
Off your perch so they can take your place
Suck out your energy and invade your space
Whatever you do, don't let them win
Live your life for you, not them
I hope after you take the time to read this
You see my advice and try to heed it
If life ever makes you feel ill
Remember I believe in you and I always will…
