Hamish (playing Thaddeus): Telchal uses knockout on Demogorgon. It falls unconscious, save ends or until it takes damage.

DM: It's taking ongoing damage, so it'll wake up at the start of its next turn.

Hamish: Ah. In that case, Telchal is going to use an action point and coup de grace it for a truly disgusting amount of rogue damage. He auto-crits it for 60... and he gets a free attack... which also crits!

DM: Fantastic. It wakes up and is now bloodied and angry.

Hamish: Getting there, then.

DM: So you can each add one astral diamond to your character sheets. They can be exchanged, or used as currency in the kind of magic item stores you shop at now. Oh, and M’s left the chat.

Tati (playing Seraph): She just got her loot and ditched!

DM: Does anyone have any roleplaying they want to do with NPCs while we wait for her to reconnect?

Tati: Yes, actually. I turn to Telchal and hesitate, and I pull out of my pack the crown I took from the vampire’s castle right back when I started journeying with TTC. And I say, “I’ve really enjoyed adventuring with you, and I’d like you to have this. I took it from an ancient vampire lord's hoard. It’s my most treasured possession.” And I offer it to him.

DM: His hands twitch and he gets a glint in his eyes that you’d only see on a professional thief, and a dwarf at that. Then he glances at Glatur, who gives a slight nod. He takes it and examines the gold detailing and real rubies. He beams and says, “You are a great friend, Seraph! I will buy you a drink when we get back! Several drinks!”

Adam (playing Billie): I caution, "Not too many!"

DM: He wraps it very carefully in a piece of jeweler's velvet and ties it with a red ribbon, and places it very carefully in his bag. Then he stands next to Seraph with a massive smile.

Tati: That actually was Seraph's most treasured possession. Her first TTC quest souvenir.

DM: Aww. You didn’t need to go that hard.

Tati: I wanted to be sure.

M (playing Kjell): I'm back, what did I miss?

Tati: I made a new friend!

M: Cute.

DM: Alwel arrives at dawn with Glatur and Telchal. Kan'kad isn't coming. He leads you out of the city and along the edge of the Autumn Forest for a couple of hours. You come to an iron fence.

Marijn (playing Godric): Iron?

Andy (playing Una): I ask, "Can I touch it?"

DM: Alwel says, "Go ahead..."

Andy: I touch it.

DM: It feels sun-warmed. Alwel takes out a key and unlocks the gate.

Andy: I go through! Do I disappear?

DM: No. This isn't the portal.

Andy: Oh.

Marijn: What happens if I fly over the fence instead?

DM: Nothing. This isn't the portal.

DM: The Craftsmen come over to your manor. Usually they dress somewhat casually around Suda, but today they're in their full adventuring gear.

Andy (playing Una): "Going somewhere?"

DM: Telchal says, "We've got a job! We've been hired to get an item from a wizard's tower. It won't be very hard but it's a few days each way."

Marijn (playing Godric): I say, "We've got a job too!"

Hamish (playing Thaddeus): "We need directions to Relliath."

Andy: "And your expert advice on fighting aberrations."

DM: They've heard of the Library. They've avoided it since it's considered so deadly and they've never had any reason to go near it. They're very interested in the theory that it might be aberrant and tell you everything they can think of that might come in handy.

Adam (playing Billie): Any tips for travelling near the Underdark?

DM: They tell you to hood your lanterns.

Hamish: Do they know of a way down there? I know there was rumoured to be a passage in Dark Town, in the Earth District.

DM: They confirm that. There's also an entrance to the Underdark in Shibanah, and they know of a bunch outside of Persia.

Adam: I ask, "Can you get us into Dark Town?"

DM: Alwel says, "Our favour with the drow is spent."

Marijn: We might be able to buy our way in, or talk our way in.

Tati (playing Seraph): Maria might have some strings she can pull, now we know where we're going.

Hamish: Good point. She usually seems to.

DM: You talk with The Craftsmen and since you're not going to steal the Dust of Life for Calaphan, you'll all return to the Material Plane today. We'll skip past the fluff because there's plot I'd like to hit this session. When you get back through the portal, it feels like your sense of smell is deadened and everything looks a little greyscale - it'll return to normal as you get used to it, but after the Feywild everything is a bit less. The magic users feel your power levels drop back to their normal levels, no longer Feywild-boosted.

Seraph (siren sorcerer): I hate this.

Godric (fairy warlock): Yeah, ew.

Kjell (half-elf barbarian): Thank the gods.

DM: The Craftsmen say goodnight and head home.

Billie (gnome ardent): Hey, I know we walked all yesterday and partied all night and then walked all today, but I'm still feeling kinda pumped. You want to come back for a late spa?

DM: Alwel and Glatur are too tired. Telchal says hell yes.

Kjell (half-elf barbarian): *holds Galwyn's hand*

DM: He leans into you warmly.

Kjell: Hey, uh. Seraph just said something really dumb and funny.

DM: He says, "I can't imagine her saying anything dumb, though funny is possible."

Kjell: I don't know, did you see her trying to play noughts and crosses before?

DM: "I didn't see, but I gather Telchal was hilarious."

Kjell: Pretty hilarious. I did a great job with that.

DM: He says, "So what did Seraph say?"

Kjell: *gulps* She uh... called you my boyfriend.

DM: He pauses. "From your tone, either you think that's moving too fast or you hadn't really thought it was a possibility."

Kjell: I... I assume you wouldn't want to move that fast.

DM: He laces his fingers with yours. "I don't mind moving fast, and I don't think this even qualifies."

Kjell: *eyes widen* Does that mean...?

DM: "Yes. I'd like to be your boyfriend." He kisses you.

Kjell: *kisses him back* I should probably write to my mum.

DM: He grins. "Should we tell your other parents now?"

Kjell: *eyes light up* I turn and yell, "Billie!!"

Billie (gnome ardent): Uh, yeah?

Kjell: *holds up laced hands* I got a boyfriend!!

Hamish (playing Thaddeus): I want to check out the races.

DM: They're currently organising a piggyback race. Entry fee is 1 gold.

Hamish: Billie?

Adam (playing Billie): Definitely.

DM: Glatur and Telchal are also there, with Glatur piggybacking Telchal. Glatur rolls better than you, Thaddeus, but you have a higher movement speed, so you win by a hair.

Hamish: Yes!

DM: You win 2 gold. Next there's another piggyback race, but this time the runner is blindfolded and the rider has to shout directions. Glatur and Telchal run at full pelt off at an angle to the track.

M (playing Kjell): Oh dear.

DM: As usual, Telchal is enthusiastic but clueless.

Tati (playing Seraph): *shy* Has Alwel come to watch Glatur and Telchal joust?

DM: Of course.

Tati: Does he sit anywhere near us?

DM: He'll come sit with you guys.

M (playing Kjell): Galwyn's just stuck sitting between the two of you with a sigh.

Tati: Poor Galwyn.
