22, 23, and 24 for Lou UwU
22. What does your character like in other people?
humanity! if someone doesn’t know how to act human / be decent / treat others with respect that they think they deserve, he won’t mess with them. oh. and a good taste in music too (;
23. What does your character dislike in other people?
there’s a lot of stuff that lou dislikes though he tries not to make some of them known because he has a fear of being disliked, kinda? he’s a super nice boy, a very kind lad, but sometimes someone can do something like... say something ugly to someone or behind someone’s back and he’ll most definitely speak up. but sometimes people will do things behind someone’s back and be afraid to tell that person because he has a fear of being called a liar when he knows he’s telling the truth
24. How quick is your character to trust someone else?
unfortunately, unless first impression shows that someone is bad, he is very quick to trust. he’s got a heart of gold and he’s been screwed over a few times but when it comes to his attitude - none of it has changed him at all
I'm planning on making a comic, but I'm not sure how to make the speech bubbles look good or what font to use for the dialog, how do you make speech bubbles??
I used to draw them with Photoshop’s vector tools (an ellipse + then reduced a square into a triangle and connected them) but that clean style didn’t match the calligraphy of my lineart + the textured brush I use so I just started drawing them by hand. Sometimes I draw them in one motion, sometimes I break them up into smaller lines... whatever works best at the time.I’m afraid there’s no better way around it. Drawing them gets easier with practice.
For English text I use Anime Ace (but there are other similar comic style fonts out there) and center the text in the bubbles. This is done in PS as well.I try to make paragraphs look aesthetically pleasing but if possible, I separate lines by readability too.So for example, instead of structuring a sentence like
What was I supposed to do, leave them there?
I’d structure it like
What was I supposed to do,leave them there?
Also don’t forget to vary the shape, color etc. of your speech bubbles to communicate feelings and tone of voice, try to avoid crossing the lines that come from the bubbles and make sure that the bubbles are placed so that the viewer will read them in the intended order.
