// Hey, everyone! Guess whoās got a jam-packed weekend? This gal!
But, good news: Iāll be on for a bit as I write a paper (so I donāt have to do it later, yāknow?) And, in the process, I found out a fun Whovian fact that I never knew while doing my homework for my film course!
Fun Fact!
The Tenth Doctorās favorite French phrase,Ā āAllons-y, Alonso!ā, is not just something fun he came up with and a name he pulled out of nowhere--itās actually an informal French phrase playing on the similar-sounding words, essentially translating into,Ā āLetās go, Daddy-o!ā
Its most famous use is in the 1965 French film, GodardāsĀ Pierrot le Fou, where itās the catchphrase of the main character, Ferdinand.

So, in other words, not only is Ten a French language nerd, but heās also a film nerd. Who knew!
okay we all did but this confirms my headcanon okay
Anyway. Fun fact aside, Iām gonna try and get going with this paper! Iāll see you again soon, everyone!
Headcanon: He keeps a teddy bear he's had since forever on his bed. It helps on the quiet empty nights in the TARDIS when he actually attempts to sleep.
// Ooh, nice headcanon!
Actually, I have a headcanon thatās similar, but with a Rovie plush instead! Iāve posted about Rover the Rovie here and here.
And, of course, hereās a GIF that fits, either way!
On top of that, it's not like Rose was a doe-eyed child. She doesn't seem at *all* like the type who would just go along with anyone. Someone like her, especially from her social class, seems like they'd be really street wise.
// I just realized that I forgot to reply to these this morning! Sorry for the wait, everyone.
This ask is in reply to a Break-Your-Muse anon that essentially said,Ā āRose was too young for The Doctor, and heās a creeper.ā Ten slammed the Anon (sorry Nonny!), but I, as the mun, agree that itās a good way to get a reaction out of the muse, so kudos to the Anon for successfully doing that!
Cue some ramblings under the cut.
So, chainsofbitterness has a point here! Rose is not innocent. When Nine finds her, sheād moved out of the house once to live with a now-ex. She and her family are implied to be of a lower socio-economic status. Her father died at a young age, leaving her and Jackie to survive on their own. Rose is street-smart, and the world hasnāt been kind to her. So,Ā āinnocentā is one thing that Rose most certainly is not. But, the cruelty of her world didnāt make her unkind; a testament to her beauty as a person.
While IM-ing me, tomxhuck pointed out also that the age argument loses its validity when one realizes that, while Rose met The Doctor at 19--consenting adult age, even if she is still a teenager--by the time Nine becomes Ten, itās implied that thereās at least been a year since their first meeting. To my knowledge, series 2 also took place over a year or so (though I may be incorrect about that also). This then puts her at 2 years of knowing The Doctor, meaning that she is 21 by the time she ends up at Bad Wolf Bay. So, in many countries, she has reached an age that many would consider emotionally and mentally mature.
Combined with the fact that humans age far faster than Gallifreyans (Morty compared it to ādog yearsā, and thatās an apt analogy), and she and The Doctor are, relatively speaking, not grossly far in physical and mental age.
So, thatās why Ten doesnāt feel as if their relationship is squicky. Thanks for the commentary, everyone!
TEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED THAT LAST ANON. OUUUUCCHH.
// As he said in the trainwreck that was Love and Monstersāā[I might be] sweet, maybe. Passionate, I suppose. But donāt ever mistake that for nice.ā
