Happy 25th anniversary to my all-time favorite anime, Inuyasha! This amazing series first premiered on Oct. 16, 2000, in Japan. It would arrive in the U.S. (dubbed) two years later on Aug. 31, 2002.
I first saw this series when I was a high school sophomore after hearing a lot about it and deciding to finally give it a try. I recorded it on Adult Swim and watched it after school the next day, and I was instantly hooked. This series introduced me to the entire anime genre and it will forever remain my favorite.
My collection grew quickly, and back then all we had was eBay with money orders and you never bought from overseas. Whenever the Toynami figures came out in the U.S., I'd grab them off eBay. I also found the 12" collector edition doll and I immediately knew I had to have him. I've had him all these years, and back when I first got him, I remember thinking how cool it would have been to have a Kagome doll to go with him.
Enter 2020, when the sequel dropped and I'd been customizing dolls for a bit. I was then led on a very long journey as I created Kagome to go with my Inuyasha doll... and I couldn't stop there. No, I had to create Sango and Miroku as well, and then a demon slayer version of Sango. The entire process was out of this world. Check out the following links for my behind the scenes adventures in creating each of these dolls:
You'd think it would end there, but no. I got it in my head to create an Azone Kagome doll inspired by the character dolls the company has made over the years. Click here for that process and to see the final product.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original anime premiere, I'm re-sharing my photoshoots of all these dolls. Bonzai!

I hope you all enjoyed these photos and my creative journey. I'm very proud of these dolls and will treasure them forever!
