My new goal is to remind people Clover makes squeaky noises in Undertale Yellow (like when Ed grabs her) and make it become something Chara loves about Clover. They hug Clover and a squeak escapes like a dog toy. (Clover is SUPER embarrassed about it)

Chara will one day slip and say "y'all" instead of "you all" and Clover would tease the shit out of them for pickin up the accent

I don't believe I have ever yapped about my Gay Disaster Chara Propaganda so here we go

I imagine early on, Chara learned go hide their emotions. It wasn't treated well on the surface for being seen as weird and red eyes. Chara generally sounds monotone when speaking making it hard to get a read on it. They have mastered hiding every emotion....besides love.

Love is the one emotion Chara thought they would NEVER feel, especially towards a human. So when they start crushing on Clover, it first passes the feeling off as an illness. Someone (Frisk and Toriel) has to point it out to Chara and it breaks them. As time goes on and the crush grows it finds it harder and harder to keep this new emotion in control. Chara gets flustered easily by Clover just winking at it or falling asleep on their shoulder. Chara is also stressing out over the possibility of ruining its friendship due to the crush.

After they start dating, Chara gets over that fear and is no longer glowing red for just being near Clover. Chara then quickly realizes how easy it is to get Clover flustered and does so to get revenge on her for being so oblivious. Chara also generally sounds happier around Clover and less monotone when speaking.

Also I do follow that headcanon of "Clover is terrible at flirting but will sometimes just accidentally drop the best flirting line ever and it makes Chara glow red".

Clover feeling guilty from other timelines and hiding it behind an immature personality created post revival is a fun concept.

Guess I'm just yappin about Clover's accent today.

Her accent is indeed real, but she just overplays it to lean much more into the cowgirl persona.

Normal Phase: "I am the toughest and bravest cowgirl in the land."

How Clover says it: "Ahm thuh toughest eend bravest cowguhrl een thuh land!"

How Clover would say it if she wasn't overplaying her accent: "Ahm thuh toughest and bravest cowgirl in thuh land!"

Only some slight changes from over exaggerating but still changes.

Clover got ridiculed often for her accent growing up and started to hide it (but struggled to do so). During any run where she made it to the Wild East, she would stop hiding it and end up over exaggerating for the cowgirl persona. (Or well, I guess cowboy since this would be before her transition.) Post life on the surface she just starts sticking to the over exaggerated accent as the cowgirl persona is somewhat an escape tool she uses from her trauma/guilt.

Chara hated the accent at first when they met for the first time. Even when they became friends it didn't really like it and took time to warm up to it. Chara eventually finds it charming when they start developing a crush on Clover.

Chara slowly starts picking up some of Clover's accent but never to the extent Clover has it. Generally just sometimes saying "y'all" or "ahm".

Clover's thoughts do not have an accent for some unknown reason to her.

There are two sides of Frisk flirting with everyone

They are loser who is very romantic and loves making other flustered cause they find it cute

or

They have no idea what flirting is and think it is just some fancy compliment.

Think of Chara's new nickname for Clover being "princess" cause of that yellow dress. Exclusively used for flirting/teasing purposes by Chara just to get Clover's face to glow red.

Now if only Chara was able to carry Clover princess style. (Clover is chubby and Chara has noodle arms)
