Something important to me
Coming together in times of trouble is something that is vital now more than ever. People from around the world are offering us support and care, and that's more than we can ever ask for. Britain was hit by something horrific and heartbreaking, many families lost loved ones, many parents lost children. What's more important now, more than ever, is that we all come together and show people that we're strong. As a community we are strong, we are loving, and we will not be beaten by the harsh and frankly disgusting acts people have done to try and scare us. Now is a tough time, and many people are looking for an answer, something to tell them why someone could kill and injure so many innocent children, young people, and families. It's so important to realise that there is someone to blame, but we have to wait and see who that may be, instead of jumping to conclusions. I have seen so many posts today talking about how "it's the muslims" and "ban immigration" and it's important to realise we shouldn't be blaming these groups. Just because one person acts out of hand gives us no right to blame the whole group. What's important right now is spreading love, compassion and support for victims and people, and recognising the hard work of not only emergency services, but the very people you blame for the attack. For some Muslim taxi drivers, their only source of income is the business they run, and in this time of trouble they turned off meters and let people have rides for free. Muslim doctors worked through the night to offer help and ensure the safety of so many children and people effected by the bombing of the MEN arena. We need to stop this stereotype that "Muslims are to blame" right now and we need to unite as a community, as a city, as a country. We can't let these disgusting people win, we can't show a divide in cultures because, alas, that is what they want. They want us to be arguing, they want us to show weakness, they want us to feel hopeless. For the sake of victims and families, can we do what we do best as a country and show understanding and support for people affected and not throw around rumours or accusations before we know the full story? And, on a last note, we need to be aware that not everyone in a community or group is wrong. No matter what happens, we need to remain united against the awful bastards that took so many precious lives, and wrecked havoc to hundreds more. 💔❤️
