You can only choose two
pierrot putting that tg root a picture in between even though they retconned their own canon because they are aware that the hidekane(tm) scene was the only good scene they ever made lmao
Some soft pure Touken for u
You know I watched the tg anime again, tbh I don’t hate it because it’s what made me read the manga so I’m not mad at it. It made me tear up because it reminded me of simpler times, when ghouls weren’t on the brink of extinction 😢
Ah I don’t hate the anime either! Which is unusual because I usually turn on unfaithful adaptations like a savage animal after reading the original (RIP SNK anime, Game of Thrones). I guess it’s more about whether they retain the stuff that’s really important to me, and honestly the anime had an incredible command of atmosphere that I continue to appreciate even with its faults.
Ah, well, times were never good (especially not for Ghouls), but yes, those halcyon Anteiku days…a simpler time. I love it when the characters look nostalgically back on those times cuz like BITCH ME TOO! Even while loving every stage the manga has taken us through and how it rebels against a status quo. Remember Kuroneki? Awww…
In case you didn’t get it
'Something concrete' is actually a metaphor, 'whenever I wanted to do something concrete' means 'to be who I wanted, to follow my own path'. Kaneki could experience it with Hide because Hide accepted him, regardless of Kaneki’s desires or unattractive traits. So after Kaneki put distance between them, whenever there were times he felt like 'doing something concrete' again, he'd want to see Hide again - as if to share this new feeling of being confident and comfortable with himself, to reunite this feeling with that same comfort, joy, 'home' he had with Hide. But he was desperate, and afraid, and he couldn't endure it ('But whenever I did, I'd want to see him so badly I couldn't help myself - better translation) - endure the thought of being rejected and losing this feeling altogether.
