TEACHING TIP TUESDAY: TEACH SMARTER- not HARDER..... My first time as an Instructor I was super excited, super nervous, and just a ball of energy! The goal was to get the participants hype and excited- so I went all out with the moves so that they could reciprocate that same energy!!!! Ummmm- LOL! Realizing that their energy may not be as high- opened my eyes! You don't have to move so hard and over exert yourself just to get energy from them. Your smile, your energy through your expressions, through your cues, and through your genuine passion for this program is what gives them that energy you are looking for from them! There is that "Aha!" moment for me. And now I'm a better Instructor because I teach smarter, not harder. We, as Instructors, are not seeking approval from our die-hard moves. We, as *successful* Instructors, desire to inspire and that's what it's about. So when we awaken to the reality that the best class is a success through the way we Teach and the way we Reach folks- then we evolve and we even learn more about ourselves and our styles. For me- this is a beautiful realization and I'm grateful that I can share this with other Instructors. Stay tuned for a live topic on this.... The new collection here for Zumba is TOTALLY COMFY!!!!! Comfortable, stylish and urban comes to mind! I was getting ready to teach new Instructors and all of a sudden I am like: feeling the zwag!!! Thank you @zumbawear for the new look! TUESDAY TEACHING TIP: Don't be afraid of your teaching style! We're all different! Yep we know this and it's good to be reminded of it isn't it? Be confident in the way you teach- and know that you can always improve your teaching style...yet don't try to be something/someone you are not! What works for you may not work for another Instructor! That's right: it's ok to be you and let yourSELF teach the way you are designed: uniquely YOU! The burden we put on ourselves regarding our own teaching styles is heavy! Let that sh#^ go and just do you! Teach the way you believe to be your true passion and style. Don't hold back. There are no perfect styles! There ARE many various and unique styles. So teach YOUR way. Make sure it is successful-of course-for your participants. And never put someone else's style ahead of your own when teaching. Be bold. He confident with teaching your way! MOTIVATION MONDAY: Never Stop Doing What You Love!!! What do you love? What brings you so much joy that is you ever stop you'd be he saddest person? For me it's dance. It's something about la musica (the music) that drives my passion for living and for giving. For some years I did stop and then I felt something missing. I left a job I really did enjoy to figure out what was missing. And then Zumba found me. Never knew how much I missed dancing until Zumba became my career! And here I am living my passion and doing what I love. And I'll never stop- so long as I can keep going. So I ask you again...what is it that you love? THRIVE THURSDAY: The challenge every day is to walk in love no matter what! Why? Because it's not worth it to respond to other things that don't feed/nourish your soul. Is it worth it to improve and better your character? Is it worth it to stand in confidence- knowing that the love within will win? Is it worth to love anyway when others TRY to bring you down? The THRIVE answer is a big "hearty" YES! The love walk fuels our positive energy so that we have plenty to spread to others so they too-catch on and do the same! When I'm dancing and teaching: I am fueling the positive energy that is within so that I can go out and do the work- serve others in a way that is joyful, rewarding and full of positive vibes!
