Eventually simon awoke and after Dr Ipliers treatmeant was pulled from The Goo, and while no longer dying of radiation poisioning.... he looked far from okay.

The goo had been thick. The tube had been small. And while simon didnt at all fight or be difficult for the treatment... he looks on the verge of a panick attack. Memories from the submarine flooding his mind as simon tries desperately to hold it together and keep his cool.

If I had the time, I’d write a fic where Rocky and Grace somehow end up on the invincible 2 and it’s just Rocky being mad at engie and going “Rocky hate mark. Can build warp core better.” And it’s just the two of them fighting and yelling and the only way to get them to stop is Grace saying “Rocky! Mark! My hand is up!” And they both go quiet “we can’t just yell over each other ok?”

Rocky and engie going silent and mumbling an apology and Grace just saying “now, we take turns. Mark, why did you build something so dangerous?”

I just dedicated like three hours to playing through ISWM and.. wow.

First thought: I need to play through the noir segment. (I went back to the slightly more plot-ly seeming route)

Second thought: imagine a universe where Simon’s theory was correct (the Quiet Rapture was actually just the spaceships/stations getting blipped away, probably by The Blood God) and Simon and Engie are brothers.

I saw the idea somewhere else and now I can’t stop thinking about it..

Did a bit of game-based number-crunching, and assuming that Simon is Mark’s age (37), he was 16 when the Quiet Rapture happened.

I magine a world where Simon, before being sent to Eden (or whatever separated them idk), he and his brother were just starting to make friends with this enthusiastic kid hoping to become a captain one day..

Imagine a world where Engie spends most of his life wondering where his brother is. Imagine a world where, after the warp core starts acting up, he can’t help but hope that maybe, just maybe, he can finally find Simon again..

And then we can even tie in BloodyMary somehow, maybe the colonists happened to set up shop somewhere near Erid?

OOO YES!! I had someone send an ask about engie and Simon being twins and they got separated and the invincible II comes across Erid and the computer already senses two human life on the planet and they’re confused.

It’s also a coltland twins AU so when engie and Simon reunite, Grace finally remembers his own twin colt and he has to leave and he kind of avoids the two of them together. Separately he’s fine but when it’s together he’s reminded of him and colt.

That cap and mark Love Him. That They Know even without the knitty gritty details.. and they love him anyway. But his swarming guilt tried to convince him otherwise. And it seemed like it was winning. His eyes dead and glassy. And face lacking its emotion...
