Again, not to harp forever on Nolans Odyssey.

But like

People have already pointed out how ridiculous it is that Odysseus, who had been camping on the same beach for 10 years, planted the horse *below* the high tide line.

But

*why* is it buried like that, and *how* did it get buried?

It being in that silly 2 legged rearing pose is already *a choice*, but then you, what, *intentionally*partly buried it below the high tide line, which had to have taken time???? So you buried it like that *while* watching it get flooded by high tide???

Is the idea that the horse started *on top* of the sand and then it *sank* into the sand over time? How long would that take? Maybe I'm just a land lubber over here, but I have to imagine the waves would be more likely to just...knock it on its side before it slowly, vertically, sank downward?

watching nolan’s odyssey with someone who hasn’t read homer’s odyssey or any ancient greek literature and in is general not into greek mythology is not for the weak let me tell you

okay odyssey thoughts as expected with any nolan outing: BIG images, emotionally desolate and at least 20 mins too long, was the last moral man in troy angle a lil silly? sure but maybe personal responsibility in the face of atrocities committed in the name of a higher order/system isnt the worst adaptational choice for a film in 2026, I think tom holland was fine as lil bumbling useless heir, toxic motherson was GREAT we should have gotten more of it, zendaya was also fine and i think the reveal worked, agamemnon #elite #aura, would have loved more lupita nyong'o, much more mia goth than I dared to hope for. i though they were going for a parallel of odysseus saving her where he failed zendaya in that last throne room scene. alas. tho it was funny that he monologued about breaking the covenants of humanity and then proceeded to massacre all of the suitors crazy style, HIMESH!!!!!! PATEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, troy sequences were MWAH loved the colours the shifting shadows!! soundtrack was fire especially during the hades scene, visuals were ofc incredible. overall i had a good time 👍

I keep seeing people say that "Penelope wouldn't mind if Odysseus cheated" or that "Penelope wouldn't be jealous of Odysseus' other partners" as though we don't have myths where she literally makes him kill his own son with another woman.
