ᴀs ʏᴏᴜ sᴛᴇᴘ ɪɴsɪᴅᴇ, you are greeted by the warm ambiance and tantalizing aroma of citrus drinks. Behind the counter, you spot Siobhan meticulously polishing a glass. There's a mischievous yet all-knowing twinkle in her eyes as she gestures you to take the seat in front of her.
"Ah, a new face, take a seat," Siobhan says with a welcoming smile. "Get comfortable. None of the bartenders or regulars bite 'round here. This Dreamjolt Hostelry offers a place of understanding and acceptance for who both consume and produce what some might call... Disturbing creations."
As you settle into a plush chair, the kind lady slid a beautifully crafted drink across the counter towards you.
"Welcome to ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏsᴛᴇʟʀʏ," she says softly. "We’re glad to have you with us."
Hi! Idk if you're taking requests like this rn, so no worries whichever way! I love your stuff so much, I tend to search a tag on your blog and then read through a bunch of fics in one big chunk lol.
What do you think of 24hr bodega owner Jason? And reader who has insomnia and goes at like 2am to get random snacks lol. Idk I thought it might be cute, plus potential of him randomly closing to beat up crime etc lol
"Hey, baby!"
Jason looks up from where he's filling a fountain cup of soda to see a woman, smaller than Romi, the cashier, but not by much.
"Hey Romi," you yawn, "Can I get a pack of pods and-"
"You quit that shit," she said sternly, scolding you.
"I know- listen. I'm working on it. Work is ass though. If I gotta train one more guy that thinks he can do my job better than me I'm gonna snap."
Romi chuckled and reached up to get you your pack of pods and then picked up the pack of gum and the energy drink you snagged out of the case, "Cut me in if you ever rob a bank?"
"Hell yeah," you snort, "You'll be the first person I call."
"I'd call your lawyer first," Jason said, grinning as he held his helmet under one arm and his drink cup in his hand. Bruce hated when they ate and drank on patrol- said it looked tacky. But... as long as Jason could remember it had never stopped any of them.
"Point," you allow, pocketing the gum and the pods as you hand over the money. "Ring me out for his too, Romi?"
"You don't-"
"An .89 cent drink is hardly gonna bankrupt me," you snort, giving her another dollar as you crack your can open.
"Thanks," Jason called after you as you leave, giving Romi a cheerful wave. "Who-"
"One of my other regulars," Romi said smiling at him. "Comes in every night like clockwork between 1:30 and 2. Gets her snacks and fucks off. Dunno where she lives or anythin-"
"No, it's fine," he said, smiling, dropping the handful of change he was holding for his drink into a charity jar next to the register. "Just figure anyone that can openly joke about bank robbery with me standing behind them would be fun at parties." And with a cheerful wave of his own, he walked back out into the night. It was quiet, no one was really out. But- you were already gone. Melted into the shadows and disappeared like any Gothamite worth their salt. And he chuckled. Looked like he'd have to come back.
I tried making Henwy in gacha.... yeah that's about it
(Also if you want me to make someone else from the team then tell me + i will probably try gacha life 2 sooooo i most likely will redo henwy as well)
Do NOT let him fool you he may look fun and Innocent trust. Me. He is NOT, you do not become a mafia and cause the most possible evil and schemes just for fun if you are nice and Innocent. /jk seriously I loved the camp Minecraft content and oh boy Henwy definitely made it interesting
(maybe will try creating stuff with it who knows, but I feel like my addiction to making gacha videos is coming back to me, maybe because I always did it without a plan and just start making shit and so short animations... if you can even call it that, maybe I will try doing again and this time better... I hope)
I actually heard them before I saw them. Or to be more accurate, I heard her. And from the sound of it, she was with Forrest in the next aisle over. Where we kept most of our snacks and candies.
"Forrest, you look on top and I'll check the bottom."
"I already looked on top." I heard Forrest answer back bluntly.
"Well keep looking!" she pleaded. "They always have some here. Maybe someone just moved them or hid them in another section."
"But why would someone hide them? That just sounds fucking stupid."
"I don't know why someone would hide them! Maybe they were short some change and planned on coming back." she explained defensively, and I nodded my head in agreement. There were plenty of times I found misplaced items, tucked in safely behind other products, while cleaning up the store.
"Then how do you explain this?" Forrest suddenly added, and I waited to hear her reply from the aisle over.
There was complete silence for a few seconds before she let out a defeated groan.
"Look. I'll go ask someone if they have some more in the back." he responded to her in a softer tone.
"No. It's ok. I'll go do it myself. Give it here."
There was a slight shuffling noise and a few seconds later I saw her walk past my aisle, only for her to stop mid step after spotting me, back track, and begin walking down towards me. Her long blonde locks bouncing with each step she took. A visual reminder that my hair would never be able to achieve that level of curls. Even though both of us had the same hair length, my black strands were so straight that no amount of hair spray, hot irons, or curlers could ever produce even a small wave onto them.
I let out an internal sigh of resignation and met with her blue eyes as she came to a stop right in front of me. "Hi. Would you know if you guys have any more of these somewhere?" she asked as she held out an empty cardboard box that had once held chocolate covered, nougat bars.
I grimaced a little as I took the box from her hands. "Sorry, but if there isn't any on the shelf then we're probably out of them. There was a mix up on our last order placed, so we didn't receive new stock on a few of our items. This being one of them."
"Damn, this was the only reason I came here today." she mumbled out with an evident frown on her face.
My eyebrows raised slightly in surprise at her statement before I corrected them and added. "We should be getting another shipment in soon. Possibly in a week or two, if you want to keep checking in."
"Thanks... We'll see." she responded with a weak smile, before she turned and walked away.
Hmm, trouble in paradise maybe? I thought to myself as I watched her turn the corner.
She had slowly become a regular at the store as she often accompanied Forrest on his trips. Her laughter and giggles always sounding off throughout the aisles as they both loaded up on drinks, snacks, and whatever else they felt like. It was a surprise to see them together at first, and I wondered multiple times what she could possibly see in him, considering that she seemed to be the complete opposite of the brooding and grumpy redhead. But they seemed to get along fine, and I appreciated the fact that Forrest was always in a better mood when she was around, and therefore less likely to act like a total ass.
But that really didn't seem to be the case anymore, as realization set in that Forrest had been coming in with his friends or even by himself these last couple of weeks, instead of with her. And as I watched them walking towards the counter they both seemed detached from each other. With Forrest walking a few steps ahead of her, his hands stuffed into his pockets. While she followed, head hanging low and dragging her feet. And if their body language wasn't telling enough, her walking straight out of the store, instead of waiting next to Forrest while he bought his cigarettes sure was.
~~~~~~
About a week later Forrest came in, by himself, and after picking out a few items he walked to the register to check out. This time however, he wore no cocky smirk on his face as he approached or even once he stood in front of me.
Without speaking a word I started ringing up his items. Stealing an occasional glance his way, his face always remaining blank while he flipped through his phone, making me debate whether I should say something or not. And after a few more seconds of thought I cleared my throat and looked directly at him. "You know, we finally got our shipment in and some of that candy bar was in it."
Forrest looked away from his phone as he turned to me with a raised brow. "And you're telling me this because?"
My eyebrows pinched on my forehead as I looked back at him. "Because, your girlfriend was asking about them last time she was in. Figured you could let her know."
He clicked his tongue and let out an annoyed huff as he put his phone away. "Tch, the hell do I look like? Her messenger boy? My EX-girlfriend can go and figure that shit out on her own."
I frowned and went back to scanning his items. "Geez what a grump. It's no wonder you got dumped." I mumbled under my breath.
"What'd you say?"
I looked up at him, eyes wide with surprise that he had heard me. "Huh? I didn't say anything."
"Yeah you did. I heard you clearly, so go ahead and say it again." he insisted as he rested his palms onto the counter and leaned in.
Knowing I was caught I looked down at my hands as I felt his heavy gaze on me, and I took in a shaky breath. "Look, sorry. It's just that you're kinda mean, and your girlfrie-, I mean ex-girlfriend was really nice soo.."
I couldn't finish the sentence and instead looked towards the register and stammered out his total, in an attempt to avoid any further discussion.
"You don't think I can get another girlfriend do you?" he blurted out making my eyes shoot to his face, as he continued to stare at me. But strangely he didn't seem upset. If anything he seemed steady and determined?
"What? No? T-that's not what I said."
He nodded his head, eyes locked on me, as he pulled some cash out from his wallet and layed it on the counter. "Alright Jaz, we'll just see about all that." he finally stated as he grabbed his bag and started walking out.
"Wait! What about your change!" I shouted out after him.
"Keep it!" he responded over his shoulder as he opened the door and walked out.
I stood looking at where he had just been, feeling completely dumbfounded. Wondering why I even had to open my big mouth up in the first place and hoping that maybe, just maybe, he'll forget all about it.
