Good morning my brothers and sisters in Christ ☀️
Rooted in Christ: The Soil
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him.” — Colossians 2:6–7
Growth does not begin above the surface—it begins underground.
Before a tree produces shade, strength, or fruit, it must first be planted in healthy soil.
The soil determines what the roots can absorb. In the same way, our spiritual growth is deeply connected to what we allow to surround, nourish, and sustain our hearts.
Being rooted in Christ is not about appearing strong on the outside. It is about what is happening beneath the surface—what feeds your faith when no one else sees it.
The soil of our lives is made up of what we consistently take in:
our thoughts, our influences, our rhythms, and our beliefs. Christ invites us to be rooted not in fear, noise, or performance—but in Him.
Jeremiah describes a person rooted in God as a tree planted by water, unafraid of heat and steady through drought. This kind of resilience does not come from perfect circumstances—it comes from deep roots in the right soil.
• Moist with truth, not saturated with lies
• Free of weeds, not crowded with constant distraction
• Patient, allowing growth to happen in God’s timing
If your soul feels weary this morning, it may not be because you lack faith—but because your roots are longing for better nourishment.
Before the busyness of the day begins, pause and ask:
• What is shaping my inner life right now?
• What voices am I allowing to speak into my heart?
• Am I rooted in Christ—or rooted in circumstances?
Like soil that must be tended, our hearts are formed by daily choices. When we choose Christ—through prayer, Scripture, and trust—we create space for strong, lasting growth.
Today is not about doing more. It is about remaining planted.
Lord Jesus, plant me deeply in You today.
Remove what does not belong in the soil of my heart.
Nourish me with Your truth, Your peace, and Your presence.
Help me grow—not in striving, but in staying rooted in You.
Before moving into your day:
• Sit in silence for one minute
• Whisper: “I am rooted in Christ.”
Let that truth settle beneath the surface. 🙌🏾
