Julian Fawcett. Theory post (long)
Alright so I’ve been thinking about Julians storyline from the Christmas episode.
I like the idea that Julian‘s daughter has gone on to be a politician like him whether or not she actively chose to become a politician because growing up her mum told her about her dad or whether she went into it in her own right or whether she specifically became part of the greens party to counteract everything her dad did in his political career.
Then thinking about the idea of going into politics because your family was also in politics led me to the thought…
What if Julians interest in politics came from a family line of politicians, whether he knew or not but it was sort of like ingrained into him and it would be cool if his ancestors were Millicent and Henry Fawcett who were both politicians and Millicent Fawcett being one of the first people to do with the suffragist movement in the late 1800’s and it would be really interesting to think of the fact that Julians ancestors could’ve been so political in an opposite way to him and trying to move for change in the early 1900s and trying to counteract all the bad things that other political parties were bringing in. Also they were both in Cambridge which would lead into the family history of Julian being accepted at Cambridge as a legacy. I mean he probably would’ve been accepted anyway but the idea of him going there because his ancestors did.
Also I can imagine an episode where Alison does some digging into her own family’s history where she finds out how exactly she is related to Lady Button and Thomas. And the other ghosts being interested in how easy finding family history is with the internet.
If Alison then decided to learn about the other ghosts family history (with their approval of coarse) and she finds out about Millie Fawcett, and teaches feminism to Julian using his own ancestors words and speeches.
