For the first time in a long time, the assassin feels a certain emotion. As her katana wipes off the head of a target, it grows stronger. It isn’t anger. No, it’s too strong to be anger. She moved her arm to the side and cut the head in mid air into tiny pieces. Is it hatred? No...this isn’t hatred. The small wooden pieces fall at her bare feet and she stabs them one by one with the tip of her sword. It feels like hatred. Hot...burning HATRED. But she knows it isn’t hatred. Not when the water forms at the corners of her eyes.
No....this is pure sorrow.
Ever since she received a letter from David himself. They haven’t spoken since she gave Cassandra to him. That was seven years ago. Her daughter is seven, and Shiva has grown from the young teenager that David wooed over. She was told that Carolyn died by the hands of an assassin named Richard Dragon. That’s why Shiva joined the league of assassins, to avenge her sister and the only way into the league was through David Cain. He wooed her with his words of encourage, his strength, and his skills. && that lead to giving birth to Cassandra Cain. She thought he was a passionate man, a born killer.
How RIGHT she was.
When she read the letter, the HATED she felt was so strong that she wanted to track down David and murder him with her bare hands. A slow, agonizing death because he deserves no quick death. Of course, he has cleared his trait so she can’t find him. But, she will. And he will die like the dog he is for murdering her own family to get to her. A pig. A DOG. That’s all he is, and she will NEVER forgive him. Shiva stabbed the last piece of wood before she threw her sword to the side, letting the blade fall onto the wooden floor.
Despite being a complete mess, her senses are still strong. So, she can sense that a certain someone has made his way back into her dojo. After a week without speaking to him. She kept her back to him, so he can’t see the water leaving her eyes. She’s so weak....too vulnerable.
❛Is there something you w a n t?” Her voice was stone cold, desperately trying to appear as if nothing is wrong.
