You're My Never-Ending Song (Bobby yearns for simpler times)-pre S1 JATP
warnings for minor injury, references to character death and Hallucination (full warnings on A03 chapter)
Bobby had never been the type to write about his feelings; that was always Luke’s job. Luke was the heartfelt one with a heartthrob face and a sensitive soul to match. Yet Bobby was the one pushing a cart in a supermarket in disguise to avoid being recognised as the boy with no success of his own. Fame had been kind to him to some extent; he had an expensive apartment, a 5-year record deal that would have made his friends weep with joy and the pick of beautiful celebrities to date, but that was never what he had wanted. He had joined Sunset Curve on a whim; if he had known what would happen, he wouldn’t have got out of bed the day Reggie had asked him to live a little.

“Why do you always wear a red flannel?”
It’s late. He and Bobby are chilling in the studio, pretending to be working but really just staring up at the brand new glow in the dark star stickers they put under the loft last week. They don’t have anything they need to do, anyways, since Luke already pushed them to finish all the songs they’d been churning out for the last month, and it’s too late for them to actually rehearse anything.
Alex was supposed to come so they could do a movie night, but he got stuck at home with his parents, so it’s just the two of them.
Reggie turns to where Bobby’s lying on the beanbag.
“Huh?”
Bobby shrugs as best he can and fiddles with his own hands in his lap. “I dunno, man, I’m just bored. I’ve seen your closet, you have, like, twenty flannels, but you only ever wear that one.”
“Oh,” Reggie really doesn’t know how to answer that. “I guess it’s just calming, for me?”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. Like… y’know how bulls really hate the color red? It’s, like, the opposite for me. Red makes me feel better. And this is my comfiest flannel, too, it’s really fuzzy.”
Without looking, Bobby holds out one hand. Reggie giggles and rubs the edge of his flannel against it, laughing again when Bobby nods seriously in agreement.
They’re quiet for a long minute.
“I think that’s a myth, by the way,” Bobby eventually says. “About bulls. But it’s good you have something that makes you happy.”
Reggie makes a face and swats at the top of Bobby’s head. “Shut up, it’s not a myth.”
“Is too.”
“Is not!”
They go back and forth, equally stubborn, until eventually Bobby says something about aliens that sets Reggie off on a tangent, and before they know it their speech is slurred with sleep and it’s nearing four in the morning.
“If we--” Reggie interrupts himself with a yawn as he curls deeper into the beanbag beside Bobby. “If we sleep through school I’m gonna tell the principal that you and Luke did the bathroom thing last year.”
Bobby makes a sleepy, indignant noise. “Why are you threatening me? You’re the one who wouldn’t stop talking about Mars--”
Reggie whacks him in the face (gently) to shut him up.
“G‘night, Bobbers.”
“Night, Reg.”
Two days later, Reggie comes to rehearsal with an alien pin on his flannel. The day after that, Bobby shows up with his nails painted red.
No thoughts just the parallel of Buck and Eddie risking their lives in an ambulance (S2 ep1 and S5 ep 6) trying to save a guy. The way the writers really said "till near death do y'all part"
No thoughts I'm just thinking about the Hildy episode of 911 and imagining Buck and Christopher off screen saying "coffee maker,Hildy latte recipe, coffee machine,Hildy coffee brand, Ecuador roast beans, caffeine anxiety, how much coffee would it take to get Eddie to buy a coffee machine " into Eddie's phone and that's why all Eddie's adverts and stuff are just coffee.
Buck and Christopher go hard or go home with pranks and we definitely need more.
Eddie "panic over instant family with a woman but not with my best buddy" Diaz and Evan "I've cheated death and ended up with more trauma than before" Buckley my beloveds
He knows he GODDAMN knows what is going to happen, the confusion and that panic in his eyes when Buck says Natalia really sees him,In Eddie's mind you just know he's saying "what about me" and he KNOWS how Natalie views Buck really. Eddie Diaz saw Natalie's eyes light up when Buck said he had a near death experience, that he actually died but came back to life. It's Natalie's job to deal with death, which is fair but Eddie's expression in this scene just makes me think that he has a hunch that Natalie will only connect with Buck over his death and I believe that when the conversation goes beyond Buck's death it will be the undoing of Buck and Natalie's relationship.
Take this how you will, whether in a Buddie way or in an Eddie and Buck are friends way but you cannot tell me Eddie know,he senses that Natalie isn't the one for Buck. Eddie knows his best friend/crush pretty much in and out and he sees that hope in Buck's eyes and he imagines Buck getting hurt once again because he fell too quick for a facade.
