I thought that this quote from Mr. Noah had an insightful meaning because it stresses the importance of a unified celebration. Even food is deemed as a distracting entity, which helps readers understand how serious the city is about being present in times of happiness. This is something that we can all learn from because of how technology consumes our everyday life, we can retrain ourselves to take the present situation as an important matter that needs our full attention.

The Magic City elicits playful imagery of how magic takes shape in our reality. Like a classic children's book, the way the magic appeared is left up to interpretation and imagination; which encourages readers to think more in depth about what the characters are experiencing because of the magic imposed onto them. I would have thought that since the entirety of the book is based on the magic that commences the characters journey, that the author would have gone into a little more detail on why and how the magic is permitted. Since the origin of the magic is left out, then I wonder what else Nesbit chooses to not elaborate on.
