okay so like. I am NOT normal about her at all. I feel like honestly she is my most traumatized OC i've ever created. (Yes even compared to Seas' entire family being murdered twice). Poor girl has been through it all and it was never her fault. She never did anything to deserve anything that happened to her.
I literally have an entire document JUST to list all the ways in which she was fucked over by her ancients alone. Not even by her peers, not even by her circumstances. I have a doc just for how her creators wronged her.
They were born into a body that was already over halfway failed or failing, missing a massive majority of what her body was supposed to be, then quickly abandoned by half of her creators. She was expected to die. She barely survives out of nothing but spite, force of will and instinct. She is thrown into a position of try to survive and keep everyone else around her alive when her base programming is screaming that she needs to work on the problem. That was her purpose. She never gets to do that.
Her senior is an absolute BITCHHHH at this time. He means well but he is too violent and aggressive and strict and he nearly kills her through administrative orders. Her other senior is entirely just gone. Her secondary local group up an ditched her once she was created a failure. Fuck she was even such a failure that her name was changed to directly state her as incomplete before her activation.
And thats not even all of it. She was planned to be killed over 8 times before the Mass Ascension. She was a constant cause for political unrest in her local group and moral arguments of whether or not she should or deserves to live were near constant in her city and her government. It was impossible for her to NOT know that many of her citizens wanted her to die. Every new iterator activation would bring up the fact that they were planning on killing her once they produced a perfect iterator to replace what she was SUPPOSED to be.
And during this massive period of time she wasnt exactly respected as an iterator let alone a person either. Being so catastrophically fucked by her very nature her ancients decided she couldnt get much more fucked. and well. if they were gonna kill her anyways what harm could be done by testing new strategies or maintenance procedures on her? Yeah no fucking wonder she prefers to do her own maintenance when possible assholes.
Not to mention her entire local group dying is indirectly caused by Mists wanting to save her. He saw its struggle in its structure and wanted to save it. Had her ancients killed her or done a better job at hiding her from him none of her siblings would have died over Mists's attempting to save her.
And the cherry on top? Her ancients refused to let her die by their own hands. They had the perfect opportunity to kill her. They chose not to take it. They chose to abandon her before the ascension and then let her rot away (not the blue spaghetti) until she died.
like god fucking DAMN yeah she has good reason to be pissed off all the time. Even after all her struggle, even when she tried so hard she was still considered a failure and waste of resources by her creators. She was never able to complete any of her original purposes, she was never meant to live this long. like just. god damnnnnnnnnn i feel bad for her but also i mean. she is a narrative tool. its just that the tool is beating her against a wall for 30000 years until ive broken something fundamental.
