;;back to the start
she wasn’t sure if what she had done to the satellite even worked, wasn’t sure if she had made it in time, but she couldn’t worry about that right now, she needed to get back inside and fast. she was running for her life, her mask broken as she made it back into the lab, before she was taking off her helmet. her skin was bubbly, and clarke was throwing up blood. this was it for her she could feel it. the nightblood wasn’t working the radiation was getting to her. she couldn’t talk to her mom, she couldn’t say goodbye to her. bellamy, and the rest of them couldn’t hear her. she was alone. except she wasn’t. she was pulling off her gloves, ripping off her suit, breathing heavily, she didn’t have a lot of time, her vision was shifting in and out, her breathing erratic. with shaky hands she was pulling out the flame that she had stolen from gaia, the moment roan had declared a conclave. saying the words she needed to say, she was activating it. if the nightblood wasn’t working in her system, it meant she didn’t have very long to find lexa, to find her one last time.”i’m coming lexa.” she breathes out, before pressing the flame to the back of her neck, crying out in pain as her body crumbles to the floor beneath her. for awhile all clarke saw was darkness.
her eyes blinked a few times, blue hue looking around her. she was back in the city of light, though this time, this time she wasn’t trying to shut someone down, this time, she had more time with lexa. breathing in a shaky breath she was moving, looking for any sign that lexa was around here. last time she had no idea where lexa had even come from when she was here, she just appeared out of nowhere, but she had to be staying in some place. not some small little thing, that wasn’t lexa’s style. clarke was looking at tall buildings, some were tall, but she was looking for something more specific. she was looking around her, and these tall buildings, growing frustrated because she couldn’t pinpoint exactly which one lexa would have chosen. then on the side of the street on a wall she saw it. painted in black, the infinity sign, the paint lexa wears on her face. she was running toward it, trying not to think about the impending doom her body was going through right now as she ran for it. once there, clarke stopped to look around down the city streets, looking for another sign. she didn’t know which way to go, but looking up at the building, she gathered she might just have to go up.
deciding that was what was best she moved, pushing the doors open to get inside, before looking at the stairs going up, small metal doors on her right, and then the stairs again. all the way up she would have to go, and taking stairs would be useless. would waste more time that she didn’t have. with a deep breathe she was praying the metal doors could get her to where she wanted and needed to be. boots hit porcelain floors, polished cleanly, and then a hand was reaching to push the button on the wall. she felt like she was heating up from the inside out, and knew it had to be the radiation. she didn’t have time for this, but luckily, the metal doors were opening with a ping, and clarke looked around the small cramped looking space, before taking a breath and stepping in. her eyes raking over the numbers on the panel on her right, before she was hitting the one that had the letter ‘p’ on it. the doors dinged again, this time they were closing with her in it. legs gave out and clarke was resting on the floor of the elevator, her head resting against the wall, as the elevator music played around her. she wondered if lexa was okay, the last time she saw her, she was fighting off the people that were trying to stop clarke from shutting allie down. her eyes were closed, before she heard the ding of the elevator, this time the number on the elevator wasn’t a number or a letter, but the infinity symbol. another sign she was thankful for. she was using the metal bar on the side of the wall to pull herself to her feet, blue hue looking around at the room she now found herself facing, before taking a step out of the elevator, slowly taking steps.”lexa?” she breathes out, wondering if she was here, wondering...hoping that she had made it out of all of that alive.
