people usually forget a lot about haymitch relationship with louella because we all just say that she is his old sweetheart, and then katniss became his new sweetheart when people don’t realize exactly what that name means to haymitch.

louella was a kid in town who had a crush on him when she was around five years old and went around telling everyone she was his sweetheart, and then she set her side on someone else, but they’re bond didn’t change after that they would still play a lot most of the kids in district 12 would, and they had burping contest and there was a lot of depth to their relationship.

there was a lot of trust and he described her in the books as a smart spunky, 13-year-old. people forget that she wasn’t all softness, but she was probably going to have some toughness in her, even though her interactions with haymitch were very soft. It was only because he was the only person she trusted enough to be soft around, especially in a situation, such as this.

I finished this book last night, and I have a lot of thoughts (mostly positive) that are honestly too much to share. If you haven’t read it, you should . Anyway, I tried to make Haymitch look as much like his older version as I could, and I don’t know how well that paid off, lol

​I hope the Sunrise on the Reaping popcorn buckets will be the reaping bowls. It’s the perfect, morbid meta statement. For the tributes, that bowl represents a death sentence for us, it’s just a snack container. It really leans into the idea that, as viewers, we are the Capitol in many ways.
