Update - they have responded with an apology (it was “the intern”, which is an excuse I have heard before a couple of weeks ago with that other company) and apparently took the photos down. I urge everybody to do some research before you drop money on any of these knockoff products. Or get the original product. There is a lot of scamming going on and they do not care. The next one will probably pop up in a couple of weeks too.

PSA. I know posting photos on the internet makes everybody think they can take them but my work is my work and I decide what I want to do with it. Yet another company has decided to take my photos to advertise their product. Without asking me. I am sick of this so I am calling them out here now. The company is called Palprot and selling a bird feeder style camera (that also looks familiar to another product that is not on the market yet). I have not given permission to them to use my photos, and they even use one as a "sample photo". My watermark has been cut out but I know my photos and my backyard. This is not a cheap product either. I would stay away from this, it is probably cheap crap. The boldest part of all of this? They follow me on Insta and Twitter and even sent me a message asking what camera I use. Thieves suck. Don't be a thief.

The fact that this happened in NOVEMBER of 2020 is insane:

If you think this is okay, you are part of the problem. You do NOT have the right to take FREE content that another creator is offering, and put it behind the paywalls of your “builds” that you lock behind paywalls. 

When you are making money off of someone else’s work, without their permission, you are STEALING from them. Point. Blank. Period.  This sort of behavior should have been stopped a long time ago, but the greedy people still gotta be greedy.  Anyway, if you have a moment, show @afrosimtricsimmer​ (https://www.patreon.com/afrosimtricsimmer) some love and support. She’s an early access creator who deserves some recognition, and her poses, clutter, and presets are amazing. :)

UGH, this pisses me off so much. @redcirce is the sweetest and most generous artist, so the fact that people rip off her art just burns my biscuits.

We all love to share things we find online and sometimes we don’t know where they came from so we share blindly. I’ve done it. You’ve done it. We’ve all done it. But when a blog consistently ignores watermarks and even appears to be removing watermarks so as to purposely not give credit, it is more than just an overeager desire to share.

Theft

So today I'm pretty sure i had part of my key ring stolen. Either that or it broke off. I find that entirely unlikey given how strong it is however... it is now gone. Whether it was stolen or whether it broke. I hope it brings joy to the person that now possesses it. That conclusion has been a long time in the making. I doubt i would have even come close to being so ok with losing something precious to me. But after all these years I can accept it. At first yes I felt a bit ticked off and I almost continued down that road when I thought. ... whether i swear or not... it's long gone. It may even find it's way back to me, for now though, it is gone. And that's all there was to it. I took in a deep breath and realised hey wait a minute, I am so much more than the things I own. Small objects like a keyring shouldn't be put onto such a pedestal in my life. There are more important things to be concerned about. I count myself lucky it was just a keyring and not my keycard or bus card. Then I'd be up shit creek without a paddle. Hehehe. Losing that keyring made me more concious of my priorities. Perhaps in the past I put too much focus/importance on the smaller things/all things in my life instead of taking a minute to really consider "is it really that inportant?" I can guarantee you at least 7/10 times its probably not (for me). Welp that's all for today. Stay shiny kids. Id you like, send me an ask about today's happening. Maybe you are going through something similar? Whatever the case may be.... Just keep swimming dudes 😙

I mean the watermark is right there. It took me less than two minutes to search for @vicforprez, head to the archives and locate the original post so I could reblog it. It isn’t hard to be a good person who respects other people’s work. You just have to want to try.

When possible, please also consider checking sources and not reblogging from known thieves. Most of them do this for the “fame”. Let’s not give them the satisfaction.
