The thing that breaks my heart most about the reanimator sequels is that we never get to see the work succeed. It genuinely makes me so upset that this scientific endeavour gets left behind by the characters, for the most part, and the plot. This is definitely why fics where the work gets to continue and succeed are my favourite, they are the ultimate fix-it’s. I wish more people would delve into the work and make that work for the story, and for Herbert
