Al Wathba Fossil Dunes 🏜 ⠀ 💛Al Wathba fossil dunes are formations of amazing wind-swept sand, permeated with calcium carbonate and hence hardened to form distinct, varied and abstract natural desert sculptures in Abu Dhabi. ⠀ 💛Only 45 min away from the city. In between an air base, a prison, and a water treatment plant is an area with these wind-swept fossil dunes/sand formations, and a couple of camel farms. They are located just a bit off the road, where flat desert leads to fossil dunes and then up a small incline to smaller sand dunes.
