Actually and let’s talk about Gary and Marshall Lee, because the way Marshall had not even know Gary that long and was ready to give it up to ask his mother for a favor and be treated awfully just for the Chance Gary might be able to gain traction with his bakery. Then Gary being just as willing to throw it all away because he doesn’t need validation from people Like That. While at the same time in another universe Marcy and PB are fighting to death because they hate each other but also what other option do they have but to die together because who is one without the other. i have to go sit down.

Yep! And let me remind y'all he also said the events of the book (the histories of the Targaryen dynasty) was propaganda! Every single instance of the Greens being wronged is green propaganda but every time they do something bad the book suddenly true and can be trusted 🙄 seems like he forgot Mushroom was the witness and advocate for Team Black.

Let me tell y'all what B&C do in the books because I suspect Ryan took out Maelor simply because people would've been appalled.

In the book, Helaena brings her three children (the twins + Maelor) to say goodnight to their grandmother. There they are held hostage by Blood and Cheese who demand a son for a son and tell Helaena she must choose whether to sacrifice Maelor or Jaehaerys.

Helaena pleaded and begged for them to take her life instead but they would not hear it. They even threatened (or possibly even went through w it. My memory is a lil hazy) to assault Jaehaera. Helaena, through tears, finally chose Maelor but instead Cheese told Maelor that his mother wanted him dead before Blood killed Jaehaerys with a single blow from his sword.

Helaena descends into madness over her grief and guilt. She is unable to look upon Maelor because it fills her with immense guilt knowing she offered him up. She regardless ends up losing him later on.

In the show, the children are sleeping and there is no Maelor. Helaena offers her necklace instead of her life and points to Jaehaerys. She mourns her child for an episode and then gets over it. Jaehaerys is no longer mentioned by name apart from briefly to show how it impacted the Blacks instead of his parents and grandmother. In fact, after episode 2 the twins are quite literally only referred to as the girl and the boy and Jaehaerys death is forgotten at the end when Rhaenyra demands a son for a son.
