So I been thinking about writing this for some time and woke up this morning in awww lol.

The Outsiders, But at Hogwarts!!

Now, of course each member must have a house, 🧙🏻‍♀️ 🦁🐍🦡🐦‍⬛ and let me just start with the Greasers ⭐️—

🐴 Micheal Curtis – Ponyboy! 📝📚 Now many may argue that he is in the house of Ravenclaw because of his smarts and love for literature etc, when I beg the differ –Hufflepuff! He is hands down without a doubt a Hufflepuff with a leaning towards Ravenclaw. His caring personality and love for nature, so humble and always at your side states it all! You can be a Hufflepuff and still love to study, read etc! Going over the Ravenclaw House I have found that Ponyboy really doesn’t fit the description actually to the major traits of a Ravenclaw quite as well as he does Hufflepuff and most people think that if they are book smart than they fit the house. Nope! Ponyboy may have traits however that point to the house of Ravenclaw but so do many, if not all! (On a side note –I too see meself as a Hufflepuff, leaning towards Ravenclaw and I see a lot of myself in Ponyboy ngl 😅 and also was placed in Hufflepuff through sites and apps that agree with my personality traits being a match🥰)🥰💛🦡🖤

🥤Sodapop Curtis.⛽️ WITHOUT A DOUBT HUFFLEPUFF! There is no one else in the Outsiders that stands out as a Hufflepuff more – no other traits that suggest he might be otherwise! Therefore really no need for me to go on in explaining or considering other houses –my mind is as made up as I have made it up for Ponyboy 🥰💛🦡🖤

🐕 Johnny Cade 🗡️📖 –Ponyboys best and closest friend 🫂 would be in the house of Gryffindor! Yes believe it or not, and much like Ron –Johnny though extremely timid and shy, ends up being the bravest in the end. Not to mention his loyalty to a fault. Though I would love to see him in the same house as Ponyboy since they are extremely close friends, this is where he fits best. ❤️🦁💛

🐭 Mathews – Two-Bit.🃏Now I have mixed feelings about him because he seems to have a lot of traits that could put him in any of the houses and the ones I considered strongly about are Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, but, since he isn’t exactly one for hard work and treats life like a big joke yet is funny as heck with his sense of humor and great wit I also considered Ravenclaw, BUT his strongest traits don’t quite fit said houses, therefore Slytherin is where I sense he suits best for his loyalty to his loved ones, his perception and protective personality. The other houses are still strongly thought of in ways and if I had to choose other than Slytherin for him, then probably Gryffindor because of his daring boldness and nerve. 💚🐍🖤

🏈 Darry – Darrel Curtis Jr. 🦁 Another without a doubt Gryffindor with his leadership, responsibility and protectiveness –his personality speaks the house no questions asked nor further explanation given, but I will go on a little further with the fact that he is hard working which might put him in the Hufflepuff house but his bigger traits overrule with the above and beyond facts that he is the most serious, intelligent and also stern as being the protective brother and being the parent so to speak to his younger brothers. ❤️🦁💛

🧊Dally – Dallas Winston.🛡️ Now Dally –no if ands or buts about it is a Slytherin, not because of his past, but because of what it molded him into…I love the House of Slytherin, but let’s face it, the best description that best fits his traits is none other than Slytherin, and it fits like a suit of armor that was molded for the warrior. Dally is quite cunning and what are the major traits of a Slytherin? –Ambition, Resourcefulness, “Cunning” and Leadership. He carries these traits all together and because of a bad past –now carries these with honor for those he cares for. 💚🐍🖤

🏎️ Steve Randle. ⛽️ Ah-ha! 😂 Now if you were looking for a Malfoy of the Greaser Gang with a good boy script, here ya go! He may not be quite as malicious and smug as Malfoy, but of any one of the Greasers, he’d be the closest thing, being I’d sort him in with Slytherin as he’s got the traits written upon his face! 💚🐍🖤

Now for the Socs💰—

🍒Cherry Valance.🍿 Being that she is quite courageous I put her in the House of Gryffindor! Her empathy goes hand and hand with Hufflepuff as well, which shows how she is able to be friends with Ponyboy and Johnny. But looking at her most strong traits, her ability to stand up and bravely face her fears, along with her ability to be realistic and loyal makes her unquestionably a Gryffindor. To be honest she reminds me a bit of Hermione Granger. ❤️🦁💛

🍺Bob Sheldon.💍🫯 Okay now this is the spitting image of an Outsiders Malfoy 😂 I’ll say it even though no need —sorted in the House of Slytherin. Unfortunately though Slytherin has ENOUGH horrible wizards and witches, Bobby ends up in this category…Some sympathy for the guy (here comes my Hufflepuff awareness rearing its empathetic head!) and say okay he wasn’t all that bad in the background, but nor was Malfoy. But least we remember what Bobby did and unfortunately his traits were built on the lack of discipline he received growing up. Remind you of a certain family in Harry Potter?💚🐍🖤

👕Randy Adderson. 💍 🚙 Another like Draco Malfoy yet more like the later Draco as he turns. Slytherin for sure but fortunately a better Slytherin than the rest, much like Steve Randle. 💚🐍🖤

💄Marcia.🌸 Hufflepuff! Can’t question that! Her happy-go-lucky attitude and upbeat personality is undeniably so. Super friendly and in her own way helping bring peace between the two opposing sides. 💛🦡🖤

Now, I could have gone with just two houses to describe the two opposing gangs and chose Gryffindor for the Greasers and Slytherin for the Socs! BUT there was a bit of everything in everyone and not all Socs as you see would have fitted Slytherin, and not all Greasers sat well in Gryffindor. I much enjoyed writing this and doing the analytics and research and I hope ya’ll enjoyed this little project of mine 😇

5. What is the most ridiculous statement on them you have ever read?

Can we just talk about the fact that he married his sister in-law after her husband (his B R O T H E R) died?! Or the fact that by the time he was 18 he was head clerk at a grocery store (which is basically an assistant manager probably)? Or the fact that he wanted to build a regimental band and that he lowkey is probably a musician like the rest of his family? Or when he was around Lawrence, no matter what ranks they were at, he would NEVER sit down? Like ever? I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS MAN FOR MY OWN GOOD

13. If you had the chance to meet them, what is the first thing you would ask them?

Honestly, I’m not sure what I would ask. I feel like asking “why did you turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism?” upon first meeting is...a bit much. But I want to see where the conversation would end up. Maybe he would open up, maybe if he had someone to help him or let him vent right after John died, he wouldn’t have died at 55 of the onslaught of problems that his addiction brought. I mean, he didn’t have the strongest immune system as it was, like he was known for getting sick easily, but to see someone go down like that after living the exciting, fast-paced life that he did...it breaks my heart.

17. Is there a song out there that reminds you of them?

I have quite a few. They’re all off of the album Some Nights by fun., which is my favorite band. The first track, “Some Nights: Intro” really strikes me as a song he would relate to. Lyrics like: “Some nights I say fuck it all, stare at the calendar//Waiting for catastrophes, imagine when they scare me//into changing into whatever it is I’m changing into” capture his youth and it can be paralleled for what the war changed him into. He went from this happy-go-lucky guy to a scarred, traumatized man in a matter of months. The whole song resonates with me.

From that same album, there’s also Some Nights, specifically the lyrics: “Some nights I wish that this all would end// ‘Cause I could use some friends for a change// And some nights I’m scared that you’ll forget me again”. To this day, he still lives in his brother’s shadow. Once J.L.C. is forgotten, Thomas unfortunately is due to follow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a time where Tom has left Lawrence’s side, even in the afterlife. There’s also “Five minutes in and I’m bored again// Ten years of this and I’m not sure if anyone understands// This one is not for the folks at home// Sorry to leave, Mom, I had to go”. If you look back in letters and such, it’s pretty easy to tell that Tom was definitely one of the more favorited children of the bunch, despite the fact that he didn’t go as far as to further his education or go into the ministry (or in Lawrence’s case, both), but being the youngest child definitely means that you have a parental target on your back, and that can be a good thing and a bad thing. To me, it’s almost like him saying “I’ve been under your wings for long enough, Ma, you don’t have to be too protective of me this time”, or something like that.

Also from that E X A C T same album, there’s the song All Alright, with the lyrics: “I’ve given everyone I know// A good reason to go// I was surprised you stuck around// Long enough to figure out” as well as the chorus: “And it’s all alright// I guess it’s all alright// I’ve got nothing left inside of my chest// But it’s all alright”. I can’t imagine that Tom was the same beacon of hope and youth that he was pre-war once the Reconstruction era hit. The war, though fucked up, gave him purpose and a reason to get up each morning. Now that’s gone, and he tackles it with dipping into different career fields and dipping into the liquor cabinet one too many times. The lyrics above can be seen as cynical or hopeful, that eventually, things might be okay someday.

Drafted. The first on the Battlefield. 

Another fictional warhorse in the same setting as my novel Caught Between Crossfire takes you on yet another historical journey across the Gettysburg battlefield by caisson and cannon as she brings you alongside the first steps on the field by draft horse pulled artillery. She is small for a draft horse, being half Friesian and half Percheron –leaning more towards her light draft side of the Friesian. However small, she is moved with a strong heart that is bigger than her mind and strength more formidable than she knows. She is a force to be reckoned with and determination to her destination is her strong suit.

Caliber –or Little Cal as some called her– Is hitched alongside a couple different teams of draft horses, all much bigger than she and meets tragedy with her last team, leaving her the last to pull alone, but no soldier expects her to pull by herself when the unexpected happens after she is determined to pull the caisson with ammunition to its destination of soldiers in need. Her determination saved a regiment who had run out of ammunition and contributed to saving the battle for the Union at Gettysburg. 

Her rider was a kind young soldier named John Griffin. He was a sergeant who had considerable admiration and care for the horses and nicknamed her Dalia after the flower he put into the braid he made in her mane. 

Her first team is a group of black percherons who are swapped out for a group of grey percherons towards the end. The blacks have become weary and are retired for the rest of the day, while with the grays, one of them was hurt, leaving only three horses unbalanced to pull a double caisson of ammunition that was needed desperately by soldiers on the other side of the field. Dalia volunteered by galloping up into place of the missing draft, determined to keep going even after she was rewarded with rest for the remainder of that day. 

She see’s Rápida galloping free across the battlefield on the second day of the battle, coming out of the smoky haze and streaming across the battlefield and also crosses paths with the 20th Maine Regiment while they were making their way to Little Round Top. Even coming into contact with the Chamberlains briefly. (A hint to Caught Between Crossfire for which the connection) 

Thomas Chamberlain took a moment to visit the horses while they were stopped for a brief moment, both the caisson and the regiment. Thomas petted Dalia, finding her quite fascinating with her being the odd one in the team; her grey coat, white legs and small draft build amidst big black draft geldings. He asked Sergeant Griffin what her name was and told him how charming he found her to be. 

“She is such a doll!” Thomas commented while petting her narrow long and sweet face while she had bowed it to him ever so sweetly. “What is this sweet one’s name?” He looked to Griffin, grinning delightedly.

“Caliber, Lieutenant.” Griffin smiled while replying. “Some call her Little Cal but, I gave her another name to match her sweetness.” Griffin said humbly.” 

“Oh?…I like Caliber…But, do pray tell, what name have you given her?” Thomas asked with such curiosity. 

“Dalia, Sir!…She has a sweetness of such a flower I find, and a heart of gold set in stone.” Griffin’s smile grew.

“Dalia….Well, I like that a whole lot more than Caliber…It suits her better…And like the flower in your mane.” He smiled more while observing the flower in her braid. “And forget the lieutenant for now. call me Tom.” He stretched out his hand to shake Griffin’s. Griffin hesitantly nodded and took Tom’s hand, keeping his smile on his face. “John. John Griffen.” 

“Thomas Chamberlain. My brother is the colonel of this here regiment. Lawrence Chamberlain.”

“Oh, the Maine boys!” Griffin’s voice was filled with delight. “We have heard a lot about the Twentieth back at home! I thought that flag looked awfully familiar from afar! I actually had wanted to join your regiment this year but went with the artillery instead. I hail from Maine myself! In fact I just came in a few months ago from visiting family out there!” –

“You don’t say!!”

Thomas became more intrigued and thrilled, almost like he had seen an old school mate. “Well, I’ll be –Say! How are things back at home?? –Maine! Golly feels like ages since I been back there!” 

Griffin’s smile grew bigger. “Things are still as they were, two years ago! Maybe a little more solemn since the war started, but still good old Maine!” Griffin’s tone matched with the thrill of Tom’s. He was just as excited. 

“Gee it sure is good to talk to somebody in person and not wait for a letter about how things are back there.” Tom’s voice exclaimed with relief.

They conversed for a little while longer before it was time to head out again. Thomas shook John’s hand one more time. “Well, this is where we part ways.”

“So it would seem. Thanks for taking the time in chatting with me and giving some attention to my team. These horses deserve it.”

“My pleasure. A fine team they are. I look forward to crossing paths hopefully again after this war is over.”

“I’ve already seen enough of this war.”…Griffin’s expression turned to solemnness.

Tom frowned, taken back by the comment.

“Perhaps, we both have…..You take care of yourself, Sergeant.” Thomas saluted Griffin.

“You also, Lieutenant.” Griffen saluted in return before Thomas remembered to bid farewell to the team of horses and made his final goodbye to Dalia as she bowed her head to him, pets and scratches rewarded to her by his kind and gentle hands before he returned to the marching line, a soldier leading his grey horse behind him.

Griffen then returned to Dalia’s saddle, mounting back on her and gently steering the team back on the path they were on again and the regiment vanished behind. 

The story ends after Dalia successfully pulled the double caisson loaded with ammunition and supplies by herself to it’s desperately needed destination after the other three grey horses had been badly hurt by an explosion that also inflicted Dalia, wounding her back left leg which Sergeant Griffin bandaged up after seeing her attempt to pull the caisson regardless. He was moved to see her able to pull the caisson and had faith in her, knowing that the regiment was in dire straits, therefore unhitched the other horses, the other two soldiers remained to take care of them while Griffin adjusted the harness on Dalia and removed excess straps and harnesses from the caisson, putting all tension and load on her shoulders. He believed she could do it and they were already half way to their destination. Miraculously, Dalia pulled the whole caisson and made it to the regiment where she collapsed shortly after from exhaustion. She did not perish however, but she was not put back into service again and had been rewarded the Purple Heart and given the Medal of Honor. One day was left to the fighting and she saved the regiment from being taken out by Confederate forces and on the late afternoon of the following day –won complete victory over the battle. 

Sergeant Griffin was Honorably Discharged from duty after sustaining a broken leg which he rode horseback on Dalia during her surge across the field in her solo pull. 

He was promoted to the next rank for his actions and sent to the infirmary with Dalia where they recovered together. 

Thomas Chamberlain found him in his search for a friend. They talked about their experiences of that day before Thomas went back to searching for the man he came to see about. 

Griffen went back home to Maine where he retired with his faithful and loyal Dalia and they were hailed heroes and became icons and highly respected by the Union Army.

Awwww, Snape and I both are sick!!🥺🤒

Playing an adventure in my game where a curse strikes Hogwarts with an old illness from the War and Snape and I came down sick now. And it’s a little ironic I be playing this right now because I am actually sick in real life 😆😝😜🥹

I love it when we get to work together. Like yeah Snape is rough around the edges, and I am always like please just like me, Professor…I don’t want you to despise me 😭🥺 If only you knew just how much I love and care about you so much! 🥺

Ohhh Vampires! How fun this is going to be!

As much as I can’t quite stand Merula, I am actually having a lot of fun working with her when we get along. Plus I am always nice. She even asked me once if I was sure I was a Slytherin 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I said out loud in person that I was actually Hufflepuff! 🤣 I just wish I could make my character say that lmao.

Snape ALWAYS makes me laugh 💚🖤❤️ It’s funny to find out Merula and Ismelda have a thing for vampires and I find it sooo cute that they made a vampire themed scrapbook. I wasn’t a fan till a friend o-mine started getting me into them recently and then I started a trend with Civil War vamps –specifically making up a Thomas the vampire and then the artwork I did and the fanfic I wrote about him 🥰 Yeah I will say I kinda had a little thing for “specific” vampires. But never was obsessed till a few weeks back. Now I can’t stop fantasizing over my Tom the Vamp! 🥀♥️🩸 Now I have a small fun short story to write about Merula and I with our favorite vamps and our fantasies 🥰 Finally something I can relate with Merula and now have something in common. Like to imagine she and I finally become friends after this 😇 After all, we do need some crazy weird friends in our lives sometimes don’t we? 😅🥰

And yes if you must know –I covered for Merula and told Professor Snape that she was helping a professor……And Snape said he always knew her not to be the kind to lend a helping hand and further stated he would be asking the other professors to clarify on the matter…..😬😳
