1973 | Chickenpox | Lily & Mary
The new term started off with a bit of chaos. Some muggle-born Ravenclaw had come back to school with Chickenpox, and it didn’t take long for about a dozen more muggle-borns to catch it. Now all the muggle-borns were lined up outside the hospital wing, getting tested.
Lily didn't have chicken pox. She knew she didn’t. She didn’t have any blisters, she didn’t have a fever and she felt fantastic. Sick people didn’t feel like she did right now. But they all had to get tested, so that the infection could be contained and dealt with as quickly as possible. “Sorry, sweet heart.” The nurse said with a sad smile. She picked up her clipboard and scribbled something down. “Bed fourteen.”
“What?” Lily shook her head. “I’m not sick.”
“The test says otherwise. You should start showing symptoms soon. Bed fourteen. Next!” The nurse had already moved on and Lily didn’t have anyone else to argue with. She rolled her eyes and then picked up her bag and walked towards bed fourteen, sitting down on the edge dejectedly.
