Look, Cooper spends enough time in a bar for his job that he usually avoids them the rest of the time. Except tonight. He’d booked a night off work, dug his best jacket from out of his wardrobe and arrived ten minutes early. He figured it was generally good practise to put effort into dates.
Except he’s been sitting here by himself for about half an hour now like a miserable tosser and clearly she’s not showing. or answering his texts. Yep, Cooper, you idiot, you’ve been had.
And with the amount of strangers in this bar, the last half hour has been anything but fun. He’s had at least five visions since he got here --- fortunately not about the same person, nothing he thinks he should be taking action on. But a couple of them had been nasty. No doubt it only makes him into an even more pitiable figure.
Cooper slouches in his seat, only looking up when one of the staff approach him. “Can i get a double vodka and coke? Ta.” He can’t remember the last time he actually had an alcoholic drink --- especially one he didn’t make himself. “How long’s this place open until?” he adds, wondering how much longer he can wait without it being utterly pathetic.
