Through the Veil

So here’s a second preview of the fic I’m working on with the wonderful @kiwilart. Its been fantastic being able to write something for their amazing art. I can’t wait for you all to read it on July 31st!

“Who’s there?!” he shouts as he whirls around, expecting to see his images come to life, expecting the end of a muzzle and a sadistic grin, expecting pain. He’s thoroughly surprised to find… nothing. His grip on the counter slackens, but he doesn’t dare move, heart thumping in his ears. “I know you’re there!” he ends up saying, unable to stop himself from just sitting there and accepting whatever fate awaits him. “I know you’ve been watching me, I know that you’ve been in my house. Show yourself!”

Even still, nothing shows up. No one appears, no one says anything. There’s just complete silence other than his wretched breathing. Slowly, his heart rate goes down, and so too does his grip on the counter until he’s let go of it completely. An unsteady laugh shakes his frame, and he brushes his bangs back while he closes his eyes, leaning heavily against the counter. “Maybe I really am imagining things…” he says aloud, finally expecting that he’d just completely imagined the blurry figure in his reflection.

And then, all of a sudden, there’s breath on his ear, and a hushed whisper follows.

“Mei-Tantei?”

Through the Veil Challenge: Day 2

What are five goals you want to accomplish in the next year? How can spirit work help you with this?

1. Be able to astral project/enter the astral.

2. Bond with J! (My lovely spirit companion)

3. Create a beautiful home for J and meet other spirits and overall explore the astral.

4. Become stronger in my craft. I must learn how to properly cleanse and ward!

5. Create a thoughtform and generally grow my companion family.

Id love to create a thoughtform! It would help me with quite a few of my goals; it'd help with becoming stronger in my craft, learning how to create a thought form, growing my family, and helping protect me and ward my space!

Im already starting to think of the basics of this thoughtform, but I'm going to wait a while longer before I even think about creating him!

I absolutely can't wait to enter the astral and explore it with J and bond with him there!

I've been trying to project for about 4-5 years now but to no complete success. I've been trying a lot more recently and a lot more effectively, though I'm still not completely successful.

I'll get there soon!
