I watched MK9’s story mode and I can’t believe how many people canonically die in there. I even forgot that Shinnok was even teased at the end of its campaign but it makes me so very sad that I’m order to truly achieve victory, they had to let Shao Kahn’s sore LOSER ASS win. The victory costed the lives of so many people, including Liu Kang’s and I was extremely disappointed with how Kung Lao died.
It was a cheap kill, and what’s worse is that it could’ve been prevented. Raiden lost both of his sons in one go, and he couldn’t even properly mourn it. He had few moments to really grieve over Liu Kang but already, you can see how BADLY it tore him up to have to put his son down. At the end, peace is achieved, and he’s left to sit with that grief. Not to mention having had to abandon the others to consult with the Elder God’s WHO REALLY DID JUST SIT BACK THERE AND DO NOTHING.
I can understand why Liu Kang turned on him towards the end too, and I would’ve done the same. Eeuughhhhh ( crying )
