Biography

Tiffany was born and raised in Hong Kong to a middle class family. When she was 18 she graduated high school, moving to London on her own, straight after high school, to study nursing as well as psychology. Living on her own wasn't easily, especially in a new country. To get some additional money to pay her dormitory fees she started tutoring students in classes such as English, maths, science and Cantonese.

Tiff she (accidentally) got pregnant when she was 21, mid-way into her studies. Although she thought she was a bit young to raise a kid, she didn't want to regret not having it years down the track, so she kept it. With the father's promise that he'd stay around, she had Phoenix and graduated from university with her degree three years (and several breakdowns) later. Eventually she landed a part time job as a registered nurse in the Violet Springs Hospital, relocating to the area and moving into a small house close to the primary school. 18 years later, she is working full time in the same hospital as a nurse practitioner, soon to be promoted to a nurse manager. After completely cutting Phoenix's father out of their lives when Nix was 15, they moved to a larger house in Lilac Wells, which she's recently paid off after both Phoenix and Duyi insisted on helping.

Relationships

Phoenix Lin: Being her only child, Phoenix is someone she holds very closely. I think when she was younger she would've been a bit hard on Phoenix, not knowing how else to parent, but as she observed how her friends treated their children she loosened the reins and let Nix have some freedom as she got older. She definitely would've tried steering her daughter into the path of biology after high school; and even though she's slightly disappointed that Nix chose sports over biology, she respects her decision and supports her nonetheless.

Duyi Iamphang-Lin: Since Duyi grew up in Thailand with his mother, Tiff only really got the chance to see him in his childhood during Christmas time, where the Lins would stop whatever they were doing elsewhere in the world and fly over to celebrate in Hong Kong. When Duyi first moved in she thought that he was a goofy dumbass, let him off easy since he helps out around the house more than Nix. To this day, they aren't necessarily the closest of relatives but there's still a sense of respect and love between the two of them.
