Tamalut (Tin Hinan) with her servant and best friend Takamat .

I am very proud of this one, because I mixed digital and traditional art in a way I've never done before. I *dread* over drawing digital backgrounds and I feel way more confident in watercolors - so I thought "Hey I am gonna try to be like Lilo and Stitch and do the background on paper". Let's say it is a sort of visualisation for how a frame of an animated Tin Hinan movie would look like 😂

The story of Tamalut - a fugitive princess, who thanks to her wisdom and bravery becomes queen Tin Hinan - the uniter of the people of the desert.

Long time no post again, this time I have another fake poster for you. First one was for "Ravohimena" and this one is for "Tin Hinan", which is another story in the making of mine, inspired by the legendary Tuareg queen. I swear to god there are so many versions of what her story actually was 😭 I'll just continue doing research I suppose.

Thank you Amnesia TDD for bringing my attention to this lady hehehe... I even put a little easter egg in the name I chose for her XD But I used a baby names website, idk how reliable it is-

TIN HINAN // QUEEN OF THE TUAREG (TAMENOKALT)

“She was a 4th-century Tuareg queen. What may be her monumental tomb is located in the Sahara, at Abalessa in the Hoggar region of Algeria. According to the stories told in the region, Tin Hinan was a "fugitive princess" who lived some time in the fourth century AD. Driven from the northern parts of the Sahara, she and her caravan of followers, so the stories go, nearly perished in the wilderness until they stumbled upon grain in desert anthills. By the early twentieth century, the story of Tin Hinan had long been told, and many believed that it was simply a legend or a myth. However, in 1925, explorers discovered her tomb, proving that she was a historical figure.”

Have you ever thought of drawing Tihana with/as a primate? I think a Barbary Macaque or a Bonobo would suit her

Hi!! You know, that's interesting cause I have actually thought about drawing Tin Hinan with an animal just yesterday 😮 I make no promises but I'll think about it! I like the barbary macaque idea.
