it takes time to be great...
When we first decide upon what profession we want to take on or what skill we want to master, we hit the ground running, sprinting with everything we’ve got toward the finish line of success. We admire the masters of the field and watch their every move with close detail because that’s the position we eventually want to be in. But sometimes we get so caught up in wanting to be the best at something that we expect it to come, if not overnight, within weeks of practice. As the days go by, we get discouraged by thoroughly observing the work of our peers and idols in comparison to ours, making our progress seems little to none. The keyword there: seems. Our perception can deceive us into thinking that we aren’t trying hard enough or we aren’t getting anywhere. In actuality, it just isn’t our time yet.
When we take on something new, initially, we are met with struggle. it’s a new culture, a new way of life, a new way of thinking that we are getting introduced to and familiar with. It’s going to take time to learn the language, the customs, the ways of this new culture. All of the prior can’t be learned in a few days. In fact, it may take months or even years. Indeed, invidually we all come into our own understanding in due time. but to overcome any frustrations and/or misunderstandings in mastering a skill, one must fully understand one thing: patience.
It’s a self-reassurance when we start to doubt the decision to take on this path. It’s the greatest understanding of the process of developing self. It’s what makes us pace ourselves on this marathon we call life. Most say it’s a virtue, I say patience is a discipline. It’s knowing that acquiring great skill will take some time, but as long as we take the right and exact steps we’ll be okay. With proper planning and execution, the more patience we have, the greater versions we can become of ourselves.
peace.
power
it’s our ability to influence and change others and the world around us.
it’s the ability to influence and change ourselves.
like Lil’ Kim said..
See I believe in money, power and respect First you get the money Then you get the muthafuckin' power After you get the fuckin' power, muthafuckas will respect you
but you don’t even need money to show and prove your power. all you need is your mind.
the true essence of power is truth. Truth is essentially facts which is knowledge. Hence the phrase, “knowledge is power.” With truth you have the power to change one’s way of thinking and/or one’s emotions.
the reason why many people can’t handle the truth is because they don’t want to accept something that they know will drastically change their habits, ways, and everyday thoughts. but to not accept truth is to ignore the reality of the present and accept a life of lies, savagery, and deceit. Ignoring the truth is settling for a life of false happiness, only to find yourself miserable because the things that you desire in life are finite and temporarily satisfying.
it’s one thing to not know truth at all, but to know the truth and not accept it will lead to a life of shortfalls, confusion, and chaos amongst the other savage individuals in the world like you.
you control your life based upon what you know and what you aspire to learn. those that refuse to gain knowledge are mentally deaf, dumb, and blind and want to do nothing but destroy and take others with them.
power is truth,
now the question is, what will you do with it?
#todaysreality .... #mytruth (at Upper West Side)
Managing to get myself to a point where I can say no is a success. I am in love with a memory that reality no longer matches. I am grateful for the experiences and love I’ve shared and need to recognize that now things are different, they won’t ever be the same.
