So I wanted to draw more dragon chimeras, and since I did half of celestialmetals already, I wanted to do the others, I then realized I needed to make a design for Zam first, and let me tell you I had fun making a design for her.

But here's my design for Zam ✨

Physical body:

So for starters, I made her tall like she is in canon. And I imagine she's very sparkly which is why I added star shaped freckles on her skin and sparkles in her hair. I wanted to give her a rounded face with a snout as well, I gave her a wide mouth with those sort of pseudo teeth on the outside (I saw a lot of other people doing similar things but more big like and I like that). I wanted to give her a tail too, for self indulgent reasons, and I added a circle on the end to match her antenna. The digitigrade legs were also just for fun, she's,I also thought it'd be neat if her hair was originally a wig she was wearing to blend in. Also for her hands, she only has four fingers that are clawed.

Extra headcanon-y stuff:

Ok so for this it requires the extra head canon context that the dragon riders/mages gained extra features after bonding to their first dragon, for those who joined later they can get the extra features when they bond to the dragon they hatched. These extra features being anything from claws, slit pupils, sharper teeth, or scales or feathers depending on what their bonded dragon had/has. For Zam specifically I gave her feathers. Her feathers are the sort of blue-ish purple color, tipped in gold. She has feathers in the same place ears would be for a human, and alone the back of her tail. It's also why she has the swirly and sparkly hair in the back, she didn't have real hair originally now she does though.

Her Suit:

It took me a bit to understand what was going on with her suit, but I tried my best and I added details that I thought would be fun. I added a gold trim to the neckline. I saw one person saying on here that Zam should has something like gills since she doesn't have a helmet on her suit, and I kinda liked that so I added some swooping lines where I would put gills on someone, in a slightly darker color than her base suit. I also added straps to hold her armored parts of her suit in place in a similar bit slightly darker color than the base suit. For her armored pieces, one side has the gold strip and the other has a slightly lighter color than the base color. For the extra layer on her legs, I was just trying to understand her Minecraft skin. I interpreted the pink stripes on her sides as breathing tubes of sorts. Also for her gem in her suit, I thought it'd be cool if it was a pinkish opal, so that's what I tried to make it look like, not the most successful though.

Also, I plan on making her a dragon chimera form later, I just wanted to make her a proper design before doing that. And I want her original dragon to have peafowl neck feathers.

This is Leaf's fault even if Leaf hasn't made a post about the coloration of the dragon slayers in a bit, it started me on this train of thought.

So the coloration of the dragon slayers. First let's go over canon colorations. And I am referring to their dragon slayer/dragon force forms.

Allumos (Celestial Dragon Slayer): Neon Fucking green (scales, wings, hair and irises)

Blake (Storm Dragon Slayer): Teal (scales and hair)

Bryan (Fire Dragon Slayer): Red (scales, horns, wings and irises) and cream (wing membrane and sclera)

• S4: Red (scales, and irises), Black (wing base) and golden yellow (wing membrane and sclera)

Colin (Shadow Dragon Slayer): Purple/Magenta (irises), and black (markings and wings)

• S4: navy blue/indigo (hair and iris), dark red (sclera) and black (markings and wings)

Davis (Lightning Dragon Slayer): Bright blue (lightning marks) and red (hair)

• Unconnected Fairy Tail MCRP: Dark blue (scales), bright blue (lightning marks) and red (hair)

Mario (Cavern Dragon Slayer): Brownish-Green (scales), and copper (eyes; dragon king mode)

• S4: Brown (scales), and green (horns)

Mori (Spirit Dragon Slayer): Unknown

Seek (Light Dragon Slayer): Unknown

Viper (Poison Dragon Slayer): Magenta/purple (Markings, hair and eyes), lighter magenta (right sclera) and black (base markings)

So as Leaf pointed out some of the colors -Allumos'- are dumb and some overlap a bit with the others Colin with Viper and I guess Davis and Blake but they have similar magic so the latter two get an excuse.

Now I'm going to suggest some alt colorations or just coloration in general since Mori and Seek don't have colors in canon. Bullet points will be possible alternative combos.

Mario (Cavern Dragon Slayer): Mostly the same coloration, but maybe more separate green and brown in the scales, and if he were to get horns, maybe a pale green, cream or copper color. I think the coppery eyes are cool, but hazel (mixed copper and green) could be fun too.

• Base scales brown with green hints especially near his back like moss growing on a stone, hazel eyes, and cream horns.

• Streaks of Brown and green in their hair would be fun too

Colin (Shadow dragon slayer): I like the more S4 style coloration of navy blue/indigo rather than purple/magenta. Maybe not the dark red sclera though, although it is unsettling if we want to go for that. If we do use the dark red then maybe some other tiny dark red details too. Also black markings are fun, although fading them with dark blue or purple could be nice.

• Black scales with accents of Navy blue/Indigo and dark red.

Bryan (Fire Dragon Slayer): Buddy you are too red, I'm stealing your monochromatic privileges. Adding back in the oranges and yellows and even black. Although not black for wings I'd imagine more for horns and claws. Yellow sclera are back, and maybe more of an orange/red fade for his irises. Red pupils cause idk why he loses his pupils in s5.

• Red, orange and yellow scales with black accents, black or dark red horns.

Davis: I like what he has going on with his FT MCRP counterpart. I do really like the dark blue scales. Adds differentiation between him and Blake.

• Dark blue scales that fade to the electric blue on the underside, electric blue marks

° Maybe hair can have streaks of either electric yellow or blue after the red fade?

Mori (Spirit Dragon Slayer): Now Mori is also an open book for coloration since 'Spirit' doesn't have a distinct color coordination. Although paler colors would be good. Maybe we can give the green to Mori. That or maybe pale turquoise or pale blue.

Seek (Light Dragon Slayer): Whites and yellows seem like the obvious coloration choices for light magic. Even blue could work. If you're being very creative you could do iridescent cause prisms and stuff.

• White base with yellow accents

• Pale yellow with white underside and gold accents

• White with yellow and blue accents

° Eyes could be either yellow or blue

° Bioluminescent blue spots could be very fun

• Pale green scales and maybe hair too, pale blue eye and pale turquoise eye

• Pale turquoise scales and maybe hair too, pale blue and silver eyes

° Maybe green eyes? I want to keep the heterochromia though

• Pale turquoise scales, silver hair and pale blue eye and bright green eye

Elaine/Blake's replacement (Storm Dragon Slayer): I think the teal is fun especially since I want to give Elaine pink hair, but alternatively colors like white silver and grey could also be good additions as well. I want her to be based off of a Japanese style dragon. The whole can walk on air thing that was mentioned in canon is something I am reminded of.

• White base with pink and teal accents (accidental trans flag)

• White base with pink and silver accents

Allumos: You ma'am are one of the main reasons I'm doing this post. Dark blue or purple, really think un-light-polluted night sky. Bunch of tiny stars/sparkles. I gave her pinkish/purple horn in her redesign so maybe add that too. Maybe gold, possibly?

• Aurora Borealis theme? Allowed to keep the the green this way.

° Maybe with a dark base color and the Aurora can stand out

• Dark blue with gold accents

• Is literally the night sky with pink horns

• Base a dark color with wings looking like the night sky pink accents

Viper (Poison Dragon Slayer): Now I do love his canon coloration, but Poison could have a lot of colors technically, especially in nature it's usually just bright colors in general often paired with black and white.

Definitely keeping the black markings it makes other bright colors stand out more. I just realized there is so much I could base Viper off of I'll do Viper's in a reblog of this post

In an origins server I'm in I and a few others made an au for MHO. The beautiful name for this au is called:

The Children get Therapy

The name is quite self explanatory. But basically I made a therapist oc that works at Monarch Academy, basically the purpose of the au is to prevent things from getting as bad as they do in canon.

I'll explain more in a bit.

Ok so I mentioned before in my earlier HCs about the original members of Grimshade wearing armor made out of dragon scales and bones. What if after the war they had more refined versions made of their armor. And later in life they all retired their armor, what I'm suggesting is that the dragon slayers get to use the old armor of the original Grimshade when they fight in the dragon war.

So basically I'm giving Allumos a set of Armor when I'm designing her for my rewrite.

Guys I have a serious question, in my rewrite I've made Trigger Finger a trans woman, but I only swapped her first name to the feminine version of her dead name, and now I don't know what to think about it. Since the character's name is also Naya's (the character's VA) dead name.

So I'm gonna ask you guys for suggestions on a new name for her and I'll make a poll in a bit, based off of some new names I find and what you guys suggest.

I was thinking about how I'm making Yamitsu have albinism to explain his red eyes and white hair in my rewrite, and that got me thinking. I should look up things that occur with albinism I know about light sensitivity and higher chance of skin cancer and more likely to burn in the sun.

I went down a small research rabbit hole, there's actually a lot more things that can cause albinism than what I initially thought.

I have infact decided not to fuck him up too badly and just give him OCA1 which from what I can find is one of the more common types of conditions that causes albinism and causes total pigmentation loss which causes the distinctive white/silvery hair. The red/pink eyes found in albinism is mostly just a visual trick of the eye due to lack of pigment making the blood vessels in the eye more visible. So technically his eyes are actually a really pale blue, but I'm just gonna go off the visual trick and make his eyes pink looking rather than bright red.

But the fun part is here. His eyes get to be fucked up! I haven't quite decided what I want to mess up with his eyes yet though. Photosensitivity definitely though.

I do have the image in my head of Yamitsu walking around with either a brimmed hat or sun glasses to keep the sun out of his eyes. Also him tilting his head down as well, both due to photosensitivity and how tall he is. Dark clothes that absorb light better.

So basically imagine Yamitsu being known as a sort of cryptid, super pale, red eyes, very tall, hunches over, hangs out when the sun is less intense (darker out), and he absorbs magic. And he's less friendly during the beginning of s5. Perfect for an urban legend to start about him.

I'm gonna go on another rabbit hole search later for other conditions that cause lack of pigmentation for a specific Viper headcanon that I have.
