Tony in Star Wars Universe, 2/?
Umm... @peskylilcritter? I have more?
Note (slightly edited, p3 is upcoming):
Star Wars Note- Attempting to draw an inclusive timeline of the Clone Wars is hard. Important to note is that I have made Obi-Wan and Anakin’s time with the 212th and 501st begin much earlier in the timeline than is canonical. Some events are EU and some events are canonical. You don’t need to be particularly educated about the details of events, just be aware that stuff is going on behind the scenes, and that it will show up “on-screen” if it’s important.
Marvel Universe Note- This is canonical up to and including Avengers (2012), but not including any of the movies or TV or associated media following it. I may include characters and concepts from later MCU ‘events,’ but this is not canonical Phase Two and beyond. That said, there are characters and plot concepts taken from Age of Ultron, so please be aware of spoilers.
3rd Month, Day 17-21, 25032 Galactic Standard. Somewhere in the Sujimis Sector.
“What is that?”
Obi-Wan opened his eyes. Tony jerked his chin at a tiny bot rolling around on the floor of the cell.
“It’s a cleaning bot,” Obi-Wan sighed. Explaining just about everything about the Jedi, the Republic, and the known universe, had been exhausting. Tony had been eager to learn as much as possible, which had led to Obi-Wan discussing the Force with the overly-curious man. To his surprise, after all that they had discussed, that had made Tony clam up. Obi-Wan had taken the opportunity to rest.
Tony’s eyes flickered. “Reeeeally.” He sounded - contemplative. Moving jerkily, he snatched the little bot off of the floor and began to disassemble it.
“You won’t find anything useful,” Obi-Wan said tiredly. “Those bots are made so that the closest thing you can get to an explosion out of them is a mechanical failure. There’s a reason that our hosts have them set on automatic instead of keeping them out of our reach.”
Mischief flickered over Tony’s face, and for a moment, through the Force. “Oh, don’t worry. I can make anything explode.”
“And you plan to hide the pieces, how?” Obi-Wan returned. “We are in a cell, if you haven’t noticed.”
Tony beamed. “Point number one, our hosts are idiots, because this pretty little room doesn’t have a camera spying on us. Point number two, our hosts are idiots, and have provided us with disgusting little cots instead of making us sleep on benches or the floor. Point number two-addendum, I can hide the pieces in the cots.”
Tony, as it turned out, was mostly right. With each day that went past, Obi-Wan waited for their captors to notice that Tony had stolen and disassembled three cleaning bots, but nothing happened. The bots, it seemed, were on an automatic rotation that went mostly unsupervised.
Obi-Wan had been interrogated once, which had provided him with the knowledge that his men were still in the complex, somewhere. He had also discovered that this specific group of Separatists merely believed him to be a Jedi, possibly a Padawan, and had no idea that he was anyone of importance. (He was growing back that beard as soon as he could. Forget whatever Garen and Bant joked about looking twice his age. Being mistaken for a Padawan was ridiculous.)
He had also memorized as much of the layout of the complex as he had walked through. Blindfolds didn’t work very well on Qui-Gon Jinn’s former Padawan.
“Soooo, we have a slight problem, Wizard of Oz.”
Obi-Wan ignored the odd nickname. It wasn’t meant to be harmful, and seemed to be something that Tony did reflexively. “You mean, aside from being captives of the most idiotic group of Separatists that I have ever had the dishonor of meeting?”
Tony snorted. “No, I mean that this thing is gonna blow kinda big, and we need to get away with this team of men you need to introduce me to. Also, I’m gonna need something to kick off the explosion.”
This, Obi-Wan could do. “Aside from the fact that you made the most dangerous explosive I have ever seen out of cleaning bots, if I set off a small explosion in a different section of the complex, and provided you with one of the power cells from my lightsaber, would that work? We could steal a ship, shuttle at the worst. They’ve got to have some way to get off of this rock.”
Tony nodded. “That would work. ‘Course, that means you need your lightsaber back.”
“Help me with the chains on my ankles,” Obi-Wan said, “and the rest will be simple.”
