Legendary artist Wally Wood, who famously worked on both characters in the mid-60s, created this striking cover for one of fandom's premier publications, G. B. Love's Rocket's Blast Comicollector. The fanzine became a launchpad for future greats and a gallery for established legends. Wood's star had already skyrocketed with his stunning work at EC Comics, and his 60s run continued to impress with a brief stint on Daredevil at Marvel and a dynamic stretch on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents for Tower Comics. This cover shows a more refined side of Wood -- clean, simplified lines, heavy contrast, and clever geometry, all playing with light and shadow to pack a visual punch.
