kon is difficult to truly dislike, and very easy to get along with. hell, even a lot of his bad guys like him to a degree. kon has little to no problem making friends with people, despite the fact that he can be a huge jerk. or maybe it’s in part because he can be a huge jerk. who’s to say, really.
he’s also a ride or die type of friend. once you have bonded with kon, there is hardly anything you can do to ACTUALLY break that bond. he may not always be the most competent emotionally speaking, but he’s steady. he’s dependable. he WILL chase you down and make you talk about your feelings. i mean, come on, there’s a REASON his death sent shockwaves through the superhero community, especially within his generation. he’s a good friend, and he’s easy to make friends with.
romantic relationships, though... kon is the KING of mixed signals. he’s a notorious flirt, and that paired with his general attentiveness when it comes to his friends can kind of throw people off sometimes. his flirting habits have ALSO gotten him into some trouble in past relationships, because. well. again, king of mixed signals.
that being said, he’s just as easy to love as he is to befriend, and he definitely has, like. Ideal Starter Boyfriend vibes. he’s fun, he’s affectionate, he can be spontaneous, whilst simultaneously not moving TOO fast. even if the relationship doesn’t last, he’s the type of ex you’d still be friends with. WORST case scenario, he’s just relegated to “grab a coffee with on occasion to catch up”.
