Lt. Gen. Tadesse vows to prevent political disputes from threatening security in Tigray, rejects external interference Addis Standard -
Amnesty International had no shame in taking photos that were from Ethiopia's election day and reusing them to perpetuate the false narrative that Ethiopian authorities were making arbitrary arrests targeting Tigrayans. The lies insinuating that people are being targeted due to their ethnicity is dangerous and is being done to vilify Ethiopia. The photographer, Amanuel Sileshi, even Tweeted at Amnesty International to remove the photos as they were being used with a false story.
In early November, tensions erupted between the federal government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, the political party that controls the country’s northern Tigray Region. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed accused the TPLF of attacking a military base with plans of starting a rebellion, while the TPLF leadership has accused Abiy of targeting and marginalizing Tigrayans, who once held most of the country’s top political and military positions until he came into power. Three weeks after the conflict began, there is much uncertainty about the situation. Here are five things to know about where the situation now stands.
Abiy and Afwerki might be on the path to ruin the entire East Africa for everyone, and apparently no one that should care cares.

The US interest in partitioning Ethiopia would be to "weaken Ethiopia for geostrategic reasons connected to its New Cold War with China...Washington’s zero-sum geostrategic mindset regards any country’s mutually beneficial ties with Beijing as being to the US’ detriment."
