        inej’s usual methods of spying haven’t worked in figuring out what this strange box is; she’s tried following the man who walked out of it, has eavesdropped on passersby, and nothing. it’s a mystery. so what else is there to do but adopt different methods? more direct methods? she’s been waiting for the man to return --- sitting on top of this box, in fact; she’s spent hours in more uncomfortable places --- and drops to land silently in front of him as he approaches.  ❝ what is this? is it from the komedie brute? ❞
