Such a powerful scene. The temptation to reach beneath the surface to try and save someone who's already gone. She sees zuala in chains but from our perspective we see the illusion as what it is, a reflection of her pain and an empty promise to keep her trapped

On Jester's declaration of who she is.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed or commented on this, but I did and feel the need to say something about it.

When the Celestial asked Jester who she is, after her attempts to bargain for Artagan's freedom. She says she's Jester. Just Jester.

Any other time (or at least more often than not) Jester has identified herself she has attached someone else to her identity.

She's Jester, the daughter of the Ruby.

She's Jester, daughter of the Gentleman.

She's Jester, cleric of The Traveller.

She's Jester, of the Mighty nein

She's Jester, (insert MN member)'s friend.

But this time, in this moment where she's bargaining with a God's messenger, she's Jester

Just Jester.

It might be just her wanting to avoid implications upon those she cares about.

Or it might be that in that moment, all her attachments and relationships became irrelevant. She was just Jester. A unique individual her own person with her own emotions, needs and wants. In a way that hasn't been shown before.

I don't have any meaningful commentary about what this means for her as a character going forward. I'm not sure if it'll even matter very much. But it felt important to acknowledge in some way.
