Something I really like is the contrast between Superman and the Justice League (minus Superman and Wonder Woman) when it comes to how they tampered with Batman's mind
The Justice League (minus Superman and Wonder Woman) remove memories from Batman so that they can continue ""rehabilitating"" villains (Identity Crisis)
While Superman, due to extreme and unique circumstances, has to take memories from Batman so that Batman can live (Emperor Joker)
Their feelings about doing what they did also contrast in that the Justice League members involved feel guilt or shame, but Superman is unrepentant about doing it and even says to Batman about the lengths he will go to save him
Poor Batman, regardless of circumstances
“For the greater good” vs “for your own good”. Probably also why Clark has an easier time maintaining his attitude - its a lot easier to justify things done for one persons good to that person then doing something to one person for literally everyone else’s “benefit”. Especially once that “benefit” started falling apart.
