"I didn't actually think you'd do it."
Shima was on the ground, his face a mixture of pain and shock. And Shiemi was the reason. She had shot him. Willingly.
Her face was hard, though her eyes showed all of her emotions rather easily-- her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes shiny with tears. She really regretted doing it, but she didn't want to show him that. Even if she was failing horribly at it, she still had to try to make herself look like she wasn't falling apart.
Hiding her regret was just something she couldn't do, it seems. Her bottom lip began to quiver as the tears fell past her eyes-- any hold on her emotions collapsing.
"I..I'm sorry." She spoke quietly in an attempt to keep her voice steady. There was a lot she wanted to say other than that-- she wanted to yell about how he probably deserved just that little bit of pain, as he had hurt everyone in his reveal. She wanted to yell about how it was just her getting her anger out.
Doing that would just make her look weak. Shiemi couldn't stoop to the level of revenge.
"I really am," Her voice became a bit louder. "That I shot you," Why did she feel the need to clarify? She had no idea. Dropping the gun, she swallowed the knot in her throat and wiped her wet eyes.
