climb your husband like tree
His hands had always been rough.
Scarred, calloused, carved and stained by years of dedicated work, of sorrow, of violence, of living.
Once, I would’ve shunned, feared, resented them. I flinched at the thought of these dirty hands anywhere on my body.
Filthy. Contaminated. Unsafe. Invasive.
He cups my face, his touch achingly gentle despite the determined strength in his fingers. His uneven thumbs brush over my cheekbones, tracing the faint blush on them, scratchy skin against smooth, holding me in place, cuffing me with an alluring warmth.
Sweat and tears drip from his stubbled chin down onto me, salty and offensive, shattering my unspoken set of rules, my invisible boundaries, my measured control.
He is a mess. He is repulsive. He is everything I had spent my life avoiding.
I turn my head, pressing my trembling lips into his palm. Once. Twice, trailing up to his fingers, captivating, worshipping those hands I used to dread.
I feel him looming over me, his hot, shaky breath catching in anticipation, his weight pressing down, pinning me into the mattress.
There is no escape for me.
Fear turned into longing. Disgust into devotion. I can no longer avoid the disorder that has consumed me.
Catching his finger, I bite down, tasting the salt and sorrow, my front teeth digging, grazing just painful enough for him to feel it. Feel my adoration, my twisted obsession. His uneven breath shudders at the impact, and when I look up, he’s watching me with something raw in his susceptible, teary eyes.
Something I finally understand.
He is absolute chaos. Chaos that has devoured my soul since our fateful chance meeting, but he is also my freedom.
His touch, his affection, once unbearable, is now the only thing I crave.

thanks to @reverseblackholeofwords i got some inspiration to draw the host!
i think that the paper colour is especially neat to join with him; just kinda the aesthetic i imagine with him. the colouring was also pretty experimental, just to see what would happen. and i really like the results!
